Perfectly cooked pork tenderloin, poached eggs and light and buttery French toast!
Local produce not good enough to use in service but good enough to share with locals to carry home.

It's an okay place. It has a small cafeteria-style service line, and a small dining room. The food quality is adequate, about what you'd expect from a small town diner. Service is very friendly and welcoming. Not exactly fine cuisine, but it's filling and reasonably tasty. Definitely small town diner/cafeteria food. It honestly reminded me a lot of the little small-town diners I knew from my childhood, it's a little nostalgic and quaint in that small town way even though the food is unremarkable.

The stockyard restaurant is just a bit down in the picture where my blue dot is. I am working on getting the address adjusted. This is an experience you can only find in a close knit, family and farm integrated town. People are kind, friendly, relaxed and would give you the shirt off their back. I don't believe it is established within the parameters of today's restaurants but is firmly established and successfully running in the 'old school parameters' which is what gives it its' unique charm. Food is consistent and of good quality for the price. Service has always been stable with long time servers who have done this as their career. The stockyards themselves if you get a chance to hang out and watch the bidding is a surreal experience rarely seen by the common individual. You'll get an education in real rural life which is the bedrock of our country so enamored with the farm style in the last few years. As my son said when he visited, when you pass someone in person or in your vehicle it is customary to nod, acknowledge, or lift a few fingers and give a slight wave.

I went with a friend in September 2020. The food was good. The experience was unexpectedly disturbing. The staff were competent, but several, including our server, had their masks pulled down below mouths for much of the time. The dining area is a large open room. I was shocked that a nearby table was surrounded by diners who were lingering over coffee and chain smoking! I will never go to his restaurant again for these reasons: (1) Location next to livestock auction exudes an unpleasant odor of cows and activity related to a livestock market. (2) Atmosphere was not conducive to comfortable dining--cinderblock construction with high ceilings and several half walls, ostensibly meant to delineate the space, made me feel like I had been corralled into the room without a visual escape. (3) Healthy atmosphere was totally ignored! As stated above, staff were haphazardly adhering to Covid19 protocol. And a restaurant that still allows smoking in 2020!! Unsavory! To be fair, there was a handwritten sign pointing to the back half of the large open dining area. That sign was posted along with an arrow on a large column, next to which we were seated by a staff member. No other tables were open. I believe that evening I faced my personal highest risk of contracting Coronavirus. After eating as quickly as I could and putting my mask on again for self-preservation, I quickly paid for this dining experience in order to get away from the jolly smoker club and hurried out to use the washroom. It was painted in a glossy brown color that was unfortunately reminiscent of cow patties which stench pervades the area around this establishment. I welcome questions and opportunities to write for you. But don't ask me to meet here to discuss business.
