Years ago a friend named Mark worked at St. Marks. When my grandfather died all of the cousins got together here for a drink. My first drink with my nephew was here. My last drink with a friend in Huntington was here. Maybe I like it so much because of the good memories. I do grab a seat and people watch since there is usually is a space at the bar that opens up and the chairs are surprisingly comfortable. The crowd does change a bit as the night wears on. People will introduce themselves, chat a little bit, and move upstairs or back to their group. Sometimes they are drunk. Sometimes they are getting there. Overall they are super nice and remind me of a mixture of the old BW3 college and working crowd and Robby's college crowd from decades ago. When it's time to go the bartenders are politely insistent. Occasionally I have been told to make sure my buddy, a complete stranger at the beginning of the night, is not driving. It is easy to meet a 'friend you never knew' here but Huntington is a small town and usually you have a friend or relative or teacher in common. Huntington is like that and I love that St Marks has stayed largely the same and remained in business.

The short haired blonde has a strong attitude. She would just stand over and talk to the regulars about the customers! The other bartenders are great. I was sober so I really observed them.

Earlier this summer, I stopped in on a weekend evening. Initially it was relatively empty, but very soon afterwards it filled up with kids who looked to be barely 21. They also all apparently knew each other, but did not necessarily plan to convene at the same place. They seemed to be having a great time, so maybe if I were a youthful townie, this would be the place for me. The second time I was here, I was lured in after work by a sign advertising trivia. This time the crowd consisted primarily of middle aged men sitting at the bar. They appeared to be enjoying themselves, but again not quite my scene. Also, if you love trivia, do not get your hopes up. This is not the kind of trivia where you form a hilarious team with your friends and a man (or lady) with a microphone reads off questions. No, this is more like Buffalo Wild Wings where you receive a child's toy and type in your answer to questions that flash up on a television screen. Sadly. But the service was good and the prices are decent. My dad and little brother would probably be into it.

It is just a bar, but there are lots of places which know this phenomenal place and deliver, so you have lots of choices! The bar stools are old world goodness.

Jackson is an awesome bar tender! I'm from outta town and decided to drop by for a drink. Jackson was great at making mixed drinks and recommending drinks. The atmosphere is relaxing and chill. No food is served, which I'm perfectly fine with. I very much have enjoyed myself.

The bartender was really rude to us. Did not acknowledge us when we first arrived so we just went upstairs. After being upstairs for a few minutes, he came up and told us we have to buy a drink or leave. He stated that it was a business and not a lounge. Which is fine, if he would have acknowledged us in the beginning. So, my friend went downstairs to buy a drink to appease him while we figured out a plan to go. While drinking that drink at the bar, the bartender was making out with a girl leaning across the bar. Great way to display an example of your business. He did not let us show him our IDs and told us he did not care. This was the first incident I've ever even had at this bar.
