I really do enjoy this venue, I had not been here in a while. We went to see the Lexington Philharmonic perform the music of John Williams. This was my first time seeing Music Director, Melisse Brunet conduct the orchestra and she was wonderful.Of course the music of John Williams is wonderful. Lexington is so lucky to have this orchestra in town. The venue is very nice and has the same warm and welcoming vibe it has had for decades. They have updated drinks and snacks, even including some Kentucky wines for purchase. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I still have the same feeling about the restrooms as I did years ago, either sneak out for intermission early or be prepared to stand in line a long time. Parking is a pill, arrive early and there are some spots behind the houses on Rose Street and you can pay to park in the Newman Center Lot.

This is a Lexington staple that I remember as a kid. In elementary school, we would attend field trips here to watch different performances. Most often, was the Lexington Philharmonic orchestra performances. Since I've gotten older, I've attended recitals, and lectures there too. It's on UK's campus, so parking can be tricky. The venue and seating are fantastic though. The seats comfortable, and the organization of the rows of seats makes every experience satisfactory. It hosts an array of shows out of the ordinary. It's definitely something to discover if you're new to Lexington, or just looking for something new to experience. Check out the website for the calendar filled lineup of events. Just like I've said 100s of times, if you're bored in Lexington, you're just not looking around.

I have been going to see (and perform) in shows at the Singletary Center since the 80s. This is a good place to see a show. Recently they have redone the seating and, unlike many popular venues, the seats are comfortable and there is adequate leg space so your knees don't punch into the seat in front of you. The venue is kept clean, and refreshments are available for purchase at the ticketed performances. Singletary Center also offers many free recitals throughout the year.

Had a very nice time at Singletary Center for the Arts this evening. We're here to see Post Modern Jukebox. Watching them preform live was a very fun experience. What a talented troop, each member played a variety of instruments. The seats were very roomy. I think the acoustics could be just a little better. But over all I enjoyed this venue.

The Singletary Center is a great venue to catch a show. They bring in a wide variety of acts so keep an eye on their schedule because you are sure to find something. One great thing about the place is there are no bad seats. The recital hall seats around 300 and the main area is probably 1000 or so making the show an intimate experience.

I haven't set foot in this place since I was a junior in high school; that's a lot of years. The place felt nostalgic for me as it hasn't changed much since the last time I seen it. It even smelled the same...if that makes sense for anyone. My suggestions for this place (when you attend an event): 1. Get there early, it will be easier to find a parking spot. It's in a college campus so parking is hard to find if your late. Parking spaces are across the street and behind Memorial Coliseum (which is a walk). 2. If you have end of aisle seats, be prepared for people who have seats in the middle, your gonna have to get up several times since there's only 2 aisles for people to get in their seats. 3. Wear comfortable shoes. Your gonna have to walk to get to the building, so unless you can walk a mile in stilettos, wear comfy shoes. 4. Have fun and make sure you come back!

Came for the annual Alltech Vocal Competition where vocalists from around the world come to Lexington to compete for scholarship. The theatre is very nice, with excellent seating and acoustics. Parking can be difficult, so come early.

Excellent place to watch a concert! I've been here twice and both experiences were great. The large theater has plenty of great seating and it's clean.

The Singletary Center has always been a fun place to catch a musical, play or choir performance among many other events they host-located in the heart of campus. We attended the Spring concert for the Acousticats and UK Men's choir. I highly recommend seeing the Acousticats they are the all male acapella group and I've seen them many times before in college. Most of the events are always giving money back to a charitable organization. The venue is always clean and inviting from all staff. They do not sell food or beverage so eat before or after :)
