How many times I've passed Silver Streak while driving Versailles Road. It's a fuel station, a convenience store, and it houses Liam's, a tiny eatery with a few tables. The menu is very limited, but Servin serves up the few offerings with a smile. I had the beef tacos, three to an order, with pico de gallo and a side of habanero sauce. My friend had a beef burrito. With no other customers in sight, we decided to eat in. The star of Silver Streak, however, is American Pharoah's garland of rose's from his Kentucky Derby win, encased in glass and surrounded by a wall of tribute to him. Worth the stop!12

Read about in today's Herald-Leader and decided to give it a try. A jockey was on his way out the door with a sac full of goodies as my mother-in-law and I entered this family owned and operated food, fuel and convenience retailer. Debbie Morris, the proprietor, greeted us warmly from behind the counter. The atmosphere and vibe of the establishment was very homey, friendly and familiar, but it was the aroma of the homemade chicken soup that led us to Liam, the restaurant that operates within the premises. Having read about their breakfast sandwiches, I decided to add several of them to our take-out order, along with the chicken soup, of course. As a boy from New York City, I found the food to be dee-lish!Be sure to stop by the Silver Streak Market! It's well worth your time.Leeds Levy
