Silver Springs Stud Farm

Silver Springs is 225 acres of prime BlueGrass land in the heart of Bourbon County. They provide breaking, training, layups, and freshening for thoroughbreds. They also prep horses for the Sales and board mares. There is an onsite veterinarian. A full service farm.Solar Strike (pictured) is a 2 y/o I own shares in being trained at Silver Spring.

Silver Springs is located in the heart of horse country. We visited their training track and sales prep barn and saw their operation in action on a rainy Saturday. The facility is top notch. The barn was full of thoroughbred yearlings from some of the best sires and dams in racing history. We met trainer Kevin Notlemeyer and were very impressed with his knowledge and willingness to share how these unruly babies become conditioned and ready to move on to the next step in training for their racing careers. The grooms and exercise riders worked like a well oiled machine. Their skill, professionalism and teamwork was a treat to watch. We felt very blessed to have gotten a peek into this first-class operation. I could have spent the entire day on-site and hope to get the opportunity to make another visit.
