I don't even know where to begin.I stopped here with the family because hibachi is always great entertainment for the kids. Or at least it has been everywhere else. They took our orders. My daughter just wanted miso soup. We asked for it three times and it only ever arrived after everybody else at the table was done eating. No sense of urgency. No apology. Nothing. There is no showmanship of any kind as you would expect from hibachi. No volcano. No steam engine. No egg tricks. Just a chef making the food in front of you with no comment. The chef just passed out the bottle of yum yum sauce. There was no other sauce. We had to ask for the dishes for the sauce. There were four teenaged girls at our table and they just poured it over their rice. So maybe the locals here are in the habit of terrifying misuses of the sauce.Definitely won't be returning.

Unfortunate Update: We were so excited to return to Shogun after our initial time there, but we are now thinking that was a fluke. My husband and I went alone for a nice date. We were seated and given the absolute worst waitress we have ever experienced-- this lady seemed like not only a terrible food service employee but someone I would never want to meet on a human to human basis. She was rude and did the absolute bare minimum for us to recognize her existence. We got the Crab Rangoon app which was mediocre, and it was given to us with ketchup. With no one else in the building after a few minutes we had to walk over to ask someone to get us the sweet sauce for our rangoons-- the kitchen help quickly fixed it all while laughing at his mistake (understandable I guess? Even though there were literally no other customers around at this time.) We got two rolls each. She brought them to us and walked away back to the small group of employees that were sitting around chatting. My husband walked over to the server station and got soy sauce bowls and chop sticks. The sushi was probably the most boring tasting food I've ever had.The grumpy woman came to give us our check and said nothing to us. We cashed out and left. I've never really felt more like an experience was a waste of money than I did when we left. We absolutely won't be going back. I'll recommend the other place down the road instead...

I am glad that such a restaurant found its way to this small community; however, if they don't start steering this ship, it's going to sink! To begin, they need to implement some standards of cleanliness. The table, backsplash, and sides of the grill were disgusting; covered in dried food. Since we were the first to be seated on a Saturday morning lunch, this was uncalled for. The bathrooms seemed equally unsanitary. They had obviously not been adequately cleaned. The wait time was terrible. We were seated immediately as they opened at 11 am. The server took our order quickly, then from there it was all down hill! We got our drinks, soups (barely warm) and salads, but It seems as though we had to wait until our grill side table was full until they would begin to cook our food...40 minutes later the chef showed up and began to cook. The table adjacent to us was seated almost 20 minutes after us and their cook started at the same time as ours. I realize that being a cook in this setting takes some level of skill in order to prepare folks food as they watch, make everything correctly and put on a little show (and I do mean little-don't expect much flair here). At least our chef was good at cooking and the food was cooked as ordered. Timing wasn't great, as my salmon was placed in my plate and then I waited another 15 minutes to get the hot garlic sauce I requested (which is in the menu description, but doesn't come with it unless you ask for it-how does that make sense!?). Then there were the portion sizes! Honestly, my wife and I have never left a Shogun hibachi without a to-go box. It was not needed today! The cook divided half of the rice between 7 people, 1 scoop each, then added hot sauce to the remaking half and divided it between three men. Their plates were literally overflowing with rice while the rest of us had a small portion. I had never experienced that kind of disproportionate serving sizes before this event. During every other visit here, the chef had always dispersed small dishes and filled them with the white sauce. Today, the chef placed the entire carafe of sauce on the table in front of me. I sat there wondering if I was supposed to use it or if I was supposed to be waiting for the small bowls to arrive. I guess I waited too long because after I didn't pick it up, he grabbed it and placed it in front of the men he had been catering to. So now, I guess they do "community sauce carafe". Personally, I found that to be extremely unsanitary. The person who was just handing raw meats hands off a carafe that the entire table is intended to pass around. Just not for me!The staff we experienced during this trip just seemed apathetic. I asked the server twice for pepper and she acted as if she never heard me. It is loud in there with four overhead fans, so I can assume she didn't hear me. However, when the cook was present he kept whispering questions about how we wanted our food prepared. If it weren't for some lip reading skills and repeated requests for him to repeat, communication would have been totally stifled! I have heard from several former employees that this place is infested with roaches. After today's filthy and apathetic encounter, I understand why that would be the case. For me-I won't be back unless I see Yelp! reports that things have drastically improved. I hope this happens!

I paid almost $40 for my food to go. When I got there the girl at the front was rude but I let it go. Then I get to work and go to eat on my break and my order is completely wrong. I ordered the filget mignon and ended up with geisha signature rolls California deluxe Maki hot night Maki and a house salad non of which I will eat. They are now closed so I can't get ahold of anyone tomorrow. Very dissatisfied.

Staff is rude, hateful and gives unwanted and un needed parenting advise. I was ordered to put my 3 year old in a high chair so they could seat an extra person.

Took my husband here for Father's Day dinner... it was miserably hot in the restaurant. We assumed it was just in the lobby/ seated dining not hibachi with all the grills. However, without any concern or precaution, we were sat in a room that continuously grew hotter. Everyone was fanning themselves, little kids with red cheeks, and everyone was visibly sweating. We were not even able to sit and enjoy our meal- placed our food in a to go box immediately and left.... only after trying to pay at the front because our waitress was MIA , but instead had to track her down. The service was a miss, our waitress seemed to not know what was going on, we never received refill, no cups for yum yum sauce, no yum yum sauce, and the poor chef had to go get things for us. We ordered our steak -medium, and when we bit into it , it was very clearly rare. We will 100% make the drive to Bowling Green the next time we want Shogun. This restaurant is too expensive for low quality or no quality service. Huge disappointment.

It was Halloween night, the streets infested with children and ghouls alike. We attempted to go to another restaurant nearby, but they ended up being closed so we ended up here. The place was relatively clean and well made. There was only a handful of people in the restaurant and the man at the counter sat us with a smile. We got our food in a timely manner and had a good meal. The only caveat was with the roll I ordered, the fish was a little tough in some of them, and I thought they were rather mild for having jalapeños and spicy mayo, but the wasabi and pickled ginger fixed that. All in all, a good restaurant. I rate it 4 stars.

This was the worst place I ever eaten. If I could give it a 0 out of 10 I would. Possibly even the negatives. Where do I even start? The front host had a bad attitude when she asked what we wanted. Then our waitress was okay at first. Took our drink order right away, but then swapped me and my partners drink (not a big deal, easy switch). Then when we ordered our appetizers, she looked at us with the worst glare I have ever seen in my life and lowkey fat shamed us. She straight up said "oh you want more" We had barely eaten all day and was on a 7 hour car trip home. We ordered 2 rolls of sushi and the spring rolls as our appetizers. Shortly after our spring rolls came out and they were okay, nothing to really complain about. The we ordered our food and asked for no vegetables and extra noodles. She once again fat shamed us, and told us "I think that's enough noodles but okay" I would just like to state that I am a 145 lb adult male. I'm not even overweight in the SLIGHTEST. Even if I was it would never be acceptable for a server to fat shame. Then when our chef came out he dropped a bottle and tripped over it and then put it on the same cart with our food and then dropped it again. He seemed VERY out of it, like maybe he was high or drunk Idek but it was terrible. He didn't do any tricks our customer engagement things that you get at other Hibachi restaurants. The only word he said to us the ENTIRE time was asking how we wanted our steak cooked. The grill itself was disgusting when we came in. We watched him clean it and multiple large spots and then put our food in those spots. Our food itself was absolutely terrible. 10 minutes after we ordered our food they came and told us they were out of crab for the Spider Roll. We said that was okay and we didn't need a replacement and to just have it taken off bill. Then we asked for some chopsticks and the waitress told us okay. She came back multiple times to the other guests at our table to get them drink refills and other things, while my wife sat there with her cup empty and waiting for chopsticks, she completely ignored us. Like 20 minutes later she finally realized we needed drink refill, and we had to ask for our chopsticks again and she acted like we were crazy. Idk if it's because we are white but she acted like we shouldn't be using them. Not only that, but she took my wife's cup and gave her a new one and then took her straw out of the old cup and put it in the new one. With her bare fingers, right where we drink from. Didn't even offer us to move it. Then our cook itched his nose mid cooking and didn't change gloves or anything. The chairs were pretty uncomfortable too. Not only that.... But I got stuck in the bathroom. The stall got attached to the wall somewhere and it wouldn't open up. Just overall a terrible experience and our food was overcooked, weird flavor, sushi was terrible and just terrible service and dirty area. Just don't come here. I hope I don't wake up with food poisoning.
