Theatre is back! I'm so happy for everyone involved with the Shelby County Community Theatre. My best friend was part of a production a few years ago and this weekend he and I went to see another friend in their production, Talking With. It was hosted upstairs, an intimate space with a lot of character - brick walls, theatre posters along the wall, lighting. It held a little over 40 seats. Thankfully masks were required. We were close to each other. In the back we were offered refreshments and were able to give a donation.Downstairs is a larger theatre. There the seats are assigned upon purchase. On this main floor is also restrooms and the box office. Tickets can be purchased online with no additional fee. I highly recommend that based on seating totals. Electronic tickets will be sent to your email for a quick scan. Kudos to everyone that gives their time and energy to this community theatre, from the performers to sponsors and volunteers.

Shelby County Community Theatre is an amazing local theatre in Shelbyville. I have been to see a few plays here in the theatre upstairs. I have also seen a production performed in their bigger theatre downstairs. Let me start with the cleaniness of the theatre and the bathrooms is perfect. It is a nice theatre and the decorations are many of the show posters from years passed. I love to see what they have performed in the past. The theatre board does a great job of picking shows and casting the shows. They usually have an intermission with snacks for free or a small donation to the theatre. The performers and staff are professional. We saw "Of Mice and Men" recently and the show was very well done. Great sets and props. They have actors who really seemed to put in the hard work and dedication to performing.I recommend you check out this gem of a theatre!

This is not the largest community theatre that I have ever been to. In fact the theatre is on the SMALL side. What it lacks in size it makes up for in quality of the productions that it presents.I annually receive literature in the mail that outlines the upcoming series of plays on the calendar. It also includes less formal functions that are included in the years purchase that will take place "Upstairs at 801". I have never purchased a years series but prefer to attend plays of my preference, on dates that work best for my schedule. If you live locally you will find the performances published in the Sentinel-News or you will see a banner hanging from the side of the theatre that is advertising the upcoming event with dates and times. Keep up the wonderful entertainment SCCT!
