The Ginkgo Tree Café is THE place to have lunch if you are visiting the Henry Clay estate. While Yelp has this as a long running café, it is a seasonal commission with local caterers. For 2019, Selma's Catering and Events has the commission and is making some excellent food out of a barely serviceable food prep area. In the carriage house, the take-out style place has one table inside and three or four tables outside. The staff is very warm and hospitable, but easily overwhelmed by a crowd (we were 8 and a sandwich was forgotten - of course, for the wrong person in our group to have that happen to).The food was excellent. I had a taste of the Henry Clay, which is homemade pimento cheese on wheat bread with tomato jam and plenty of bacon. Imagine sweet and creamy with a salty crunch, and you may have a glimmer into this wonderful sandwich. The BLT was a classic and was absolutely loaded with bacon. The LOs' turkey sandwiches were incredibly generous.I had the Go West Young Man Salad, which was an entire sliced chicken breast with pineapple, strawberries and walnuts over chopped romaine. Served with balsamic vinaigrette, the salad was crisp and refreshing. DM had the homemade chicken salad served on crisp romaine, rather than a tomato, which was also good. Moist chicken with plenty of crunchy veg in a creamy dressing made for an excellent lunch plate.I highly recommend coming to the Ginkgo Tree Café, especially if Selma's Catering and Events has the commission.

My partner just gifted me with a delicious brownie she bought earlier today from Ginkgo Tree Cafe. I had to lay down and immediately write a glowing review!Mouth watering, perfectly soft and consistent, with crystal like, thin, mildly crunchy bridge layers between the cake layers, and the smoothest and perfectly bodied and perfectly sweet chocolate icing on top. I will be in soon to acquire more... please don't change an iota of this recipe. Thank you Ginkgo Tree Cafe, your brownie has changed my life.

Super cute cafe on the Henry Clay estate grounds. Wonderful hand poured coffee totally worth the few minutes it takes for them to make it. Beans are locally roasted by Smokin Aces.I also had a ham and spinach quiche, made in-house, that was stellar. This is a must visit cafe and after two visits converted me to a regular.

Had a birthday gathering here with 12 people. While we had to wait a while understandably for our food, it was very good. The people working were extremely nice & helpful. I especially enjoyed the tomato soup. A perfect spot on a beautiful day!

This place is AMAZING! New ownership is rocking homemade baked goods, including the most heavenly quiche, and selling Smokin' Aces Coffee Co. Not to mention the beautiful scenery and actual parking spaces.

Very pleasant place to have a sandwich, under the trees at Ashland. Friendly staff. Delicious BLT. Fresh fruit salads have a good variety of fruits and are in bite sized pieces, showing more care than many a cafe. Plus mint :-)

I ordered the turkey and cheese sandwich. I had to pay including tip before they prepared my food. 2 people were waiting on their to go orders. I was told they would bring it to me. It never arrived. I had to go back inside and ask for it. It was sitting in a basket behind the counter. Yet they got a tip! If you go don't tip The food was good.

They were very busy today, due to lex art fair, which I understand. I was told they would bring food out when ready. They did not. i waited for 30 minutes + for a 12 dollar sandwich with 5$ worth of food. Pesto mayo was the only good thing about it. When i finally went up to see if I had been forgotten about, lady behind the counter quickly handed me my long sitting sandwich and pasta salad. She Did not apologize but hid behind the fact that 'they're busy' for not updating me/doing what she said. I double checked when ordering that she meant she would bring it out to me, in the outside seating area, because I thought it would be tough. I would not mind waiting in the ordering room for a sandwich. But she reassured me that yes, they would bring it out to me when ready. Then she did not, and would not even come ask me if I could get it myself. Next time I want a 12 dollar sandwich, I'll go to kroger and buy boars head. Shame, as it is a lovely location.
