This is a seasonal restaurant that is on a boat and docked on the Ohio River. The views are spectacular and the dining area is spacious. The manager is very friendly and provided great service and prepared my entree of fish & fries. I really liked the sauce. But the batter was ok, but the fish was still great. If you'd like to try Schooner's during the off season, you can reach them via DoorDash.

Well, why didn't anyone tell me about this hidden gem? Lived less than 45 mins away from it for 36 years now, and only found out about this place because of Yelp about 30 mins before we went there! The food is great... but (a big but...) the atmosphere is even better! The salmon was to die for. Hush puppies were average, but everything else was GREAT. And don't get me wrong, hush puppies were still good, just not a game changer like the rest of the food. As we sat riverside, we had a Jimmy Buffett tribute concert for entertainment. Can't feel more oceanside/beachy while inland than I did at this place. Go check this hidden gem out, but don't tell anyone our secret!

Place isn't closed! My buddies and I have been coming here once a week for abt a month now and have no complaints. View is great, food is good, and it's really not too expensive. The live music on weekends is really enjoyable too. Service is the only thing that can be somewhat hit or miss but overall we've been very pleased

Terribly mediocre food.Service is fairly friendly but still just average. The only redeeming quality is the view and that's only if it is a nice day.

Went a few times last year and the food was always just so-so, but went the other afternoon for lunch and everything we got was exceptionally good. Apparently there's a new chef that has really turned things around! I ordered the fish tacos, which I had gotten before and thought were just average, but they were GREAT this time. She got the beer-battered fish sandwich and it was tasty as well, and HUGE.We'll be going back soon!

The food here is good. We most always get the seafood nachos, which are really unique and really good. I also really like the fish tacos, but my favorite thing about this place is the atmosphere. Nothing like sitting on the river watching the sunset on a hot summer evening.

This is one of the newest restaurants in Huntington and sure is a welcome addition to the eating options in town. I really, really, really wanted to enjoy my experience here, especially after a number of other locals and spoke wonderfully of it. I went on Memorial Day at about 2:30-3:00pm.Firstly, I love the location. For a restaurant basically on a barge, this is the nicest one I have ever seen. It is incredibly clean and very tastefully decorated. They lose no points from me for location and decor. The food was okay. It wasn't the best food ever, but it sure wasn't bad. But they seemed to be out of EVERYTHING. I ordered fish and chips, I wanted some malt vinegar--they didn't have any malt vinegar! They were also out of ice cream, a few of their desserts, and several key ingredients for mixed drinks.I was also a little frustrated by their menu and drink menus. They had listings of fancy drinks with nautical names, but didn't reveal what was in those drinks or even which ones were alcoholic. They also had a detailed listing of frozen and non-frozen drinks, and each time someone in my party asked about a frozen drink he got some kind of excuse about how their ice machine wasn't working right and that he really didn't want that drink frozen if that's what he was going to order. But the service was attentive and quick. The food was alright. But they've got to do better with actually having the items they say they do on the menu and perhaps redoing the menus to make them more clear (the menus also had a number of typos and spelling errors--the graphic design was great, but you expect better). But I'm giving them three stars because I will go back to try them out again--the service was good, the location fabulous, and the food decent (for what they had).

Guess what I just found out?! Schooner's Waterfront Grille is now booking Christmas parties, has a happy hour on Wed and has all the football games on their new TVs! Can you imagine being on the river looking at the water in the winter time! The view will be amazing! It will go along with the great food and great service! I will definitely be back after the experiences I have had!

Very bad customer service & half the time they don't have the food that you ordered. & if they aren't busy the waitress will add a 20% gratuity when the manager told us they only add the 20% if you have a party of 8 or more & we only had a party of 3. We paid $11.70 in tip...even though the waitress didn't deserve it. We had to wipe down our own table & ask for utencils to eat & she didn't ask if we wanted refills. We might as well waited on ourselves. Other friends have also had to same experience. I think the place would be a nice place of they made a lot of changes on how they run a business. I can understand now why the place is always empty every time we went. I won't lie the first 2 times I had excellent service but the last to times were just awful. This last time was such a bad experience that I will never go back.
