SavorMex Authentic Mexican Food

Wow!! That's how I have to start this review! We were referred to SavorMex thru a friend from church when asked for advice on good Mexican food in Louisville. Being from Southern CA, our experience with mexican food in Louisville has been slim to none so we decided to give it a try. I ordered a Torta which comes w Carne Asada, mayo, lettuce, tomato, avocado on a toasty bun. I asked for beans to be added inside. When I received my order, it looked incredible, it was humongous but the test was on the taste and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. All the ingredients were fresh and delish!! We also ordered Sonia's mulitas, they were extremely delicious and filling as you get 2 tortillas and they are doughy. I did not try the Burrito but I was told, it was great! All I know is that when I turned around to get a bite, the Burrito was gone, gone, gone. We also devoured 2 tamales, one Pork and one chicken, no pictures, hence the statement above. I must tell you, we were pleasantly surprised of how good they were. The masa was moist and the flavors were rustic and delish! Let me not forget their chips, they are amazing, crunchy, crispy, fresh, and non greasy just the way I like my chips and their salsas were just perfect, mild, hot, and just right!!Everything we ate was delicious. It's a must go there again when wanting real authentic Mexican food!! The service was excellent, hospitable, and attentive. The place is small but comfortable. We were the only ones there and we were treated like royalty. We will see you soon amiga!!

Fantastic food........don't let this place fool yo.......give it a try and you won't be disappointed.The people there were super friendly and the service was quick.

I like to support local businesses and this one is no exception. Almost hidden in the corner of a small strip mall they seem to do a very nice business with a lot of takeout orders. If you plan to take out I would suggest you call your order in ahead. It will cut your wait time down. They have a nice varied menu with a couple of lunch specials. I chose the Lunch Fajitas. They give you a more than adequate amount of meat, tacos, refried beans, rice, guacamole, sour cream and lettuce. It has a great flavor and is delicious.

I've been wanting to go into this hole in the wall. I walked in and walked OUT! This place is filthy and disgusting. Felt like it was way too risky to eat here.

This little hidden gem in the corner is the absolute best spot for tacos! They are always so friendly every time I have been in getting takeout or dining in. There are only a few tables to sit at, so dining is limited.

Great authentic Mexican! Staff is very pleasing and willing to help. Not a fancy joint but very comfortable.

I wouldn't say this place is my favorite, but my wife goes to Revival, so I've had many a tacos from here. The name doesn't lie, seems about as authentic as it gets. About as close to the tacos I used to get in San Diego.Crazy cheap, and well worth it. The mini tacos on Tuesday are a whole dollar. Wednesday is the regular tacos which are $1.50 or two bucks, whatever it is it's cheap, yet delicious. All kinds of meat ranging from ground beef to tripe so whatever tickles your fancy they have it.There's other various types of authentic foods that I haven't been brave enough to try ,but I'm sure they are good too. There's absolutely no frills to this place and it's kind of hidden in the corner so you have to be looking for it.Definitely a good break from all the Tex-Mex places around town.

We go here often. The food is great and the family is awesome. We've had burritos, bowls, tacos. Huge portions and great taste.

The food is fantastic and service was great! Delicious street tacos and tamales. We love SavorMex and are never disappointed.

I finally got around to trying this place back on 4/27. It's now 5/7 and I've already been back 5 times. I've had several different things already, even though I already have a couple of favorites. Street tacos are awesome and very reasonably priced. I Had them with chicken one time, and then carnitas another time. It's honestly been carnitas for me ever since. But I swear I'll try something different next time! I've had the Burrito LaGrange (Good), the nachos with carnitas (Good and great portion) and crunchy tacos (for a mere $2 each). The owner seems very nice and the staff is also pleasant.
