Etown's Saint Vinnie's has been open for several years, but given their pretty limited hours (even as compared to Hosparus' shop and Buried Treasure), I always assumed the shop was a vanity exercise and never stopped in. My error. When in Etown, my habitual donation pattern had become: clothing to Goodwill (since they bale, shred & recycle clothing not suitable for resale, in their opinion), appliances and core-needs furniture & household goods, etc. to Helping Hand of Hope (where they are given, direct, to those with need for them), household goods & anything 'antique-y' to Buried Treasure (where their sale would benefit animal protection in Hardin County). That changed recently when I was seeking a place to donate a significant / overwhelming amount of small antique furniture items (chairs, rocking chairs, curio cabinets, etc., but nothing everyday useful), household goods (including a huge amount of fairly expensive Louisville Stoneware, German, & French dishware, a huge stack of European lace curtains, corvette stuff, room decor (lamps and ornament), and random household stuff), art project materials, and kid-related stuff (including some kiddo-sized furniture).Since I learned that one of my usual spots prefers to have six birds in the bush to one in the hand, I decided to explore local options that move their donations more effectively.Checked Hosparus' thrift shop: while I may donate to them next time (depending on what is being left), as they're certainly a wonderful organization, what I wanted to donate this time did not seem to be a good fit for them, given their shop stock.Saint Vinnie's was a great fit, though. They accept (delivered - only) furniture items for consignment and donations (can be picked up, by arrangement, given volume; not limited to furniture). I wasn't interested in consignment, but my donated items were picked up in a timely and effective manner, as arranged. The staff picking up did ask a few questions about some of the items - Waechtersbach, Delft, Limoges - which I hope helped them establish values for reasonable resale - not "sits on the the shelf for years" prices benefiting no one and nothing.Planning on checking in over the next few months to see that items donated are priced reasonably to make a buck and move on, in order to make my own decisions regarding future donations...Will report back...

horrible horrible experience. The volunteers were so rude. I entered store at 545pm/1745 not knowing store was about to close. The first lady to approach me was like you can not buy that we are about to close so I walked to front asked for a "vacuum" the next representative was like we are about to close. I said ok why didn't anyone make me aware of store hours when I entered building they continued talking like no one heard me. I then began speaking loudly asking where to find merchandise. At 558pm/1758 I was acknowledged by woman at register. She said I don't think we have any and we are about to close. I said you know what it is okay. I have already asked a few questions since then... her return response was ok. Have a good night come back tomorrow. I know working all day is tedious and volunteering takes a special case but if you are not willing to stay in the store an extra 5 minute to sell a vacuum and a baby doll stroller FIND A NEW JOB. I turned to a few people in the community who also said they felt uncomfortable and who felt like the people were working were rude asf. Hospitality is not for everyone and if you cant understand what running a retail business especially a community assisted place is about do not become a volunteer or a worker!!!!!!!!! These can not be the same people from Saint Vincent DePaul Church if so they need to look at their congregation and the people they hire to represent their name. I have never ran into people as nasty from this church I was shocked.
