This place has the greatest meat and chicken and they have milka chocolate and there beff franks which are like hotdogs made out of beef every thing is halal they even have rice crispy treats and marshmallows and there drinks are amazing wow and Friday is the busiest day because they get vegetables and trust me it is crowded in the morning and when the door opens, everyone just comes in so come to Sahara market now

It's a tiny market, and weirdly seems to have good selections on a few types of items but overall is missing a lot. Notably, I could not find any fresh hummus, which seems to me like the #1 thing the term "Mediterranean market" would be advertising. They had plenty of canned hummus, as well as some canned fava beans that I like. There were plenty of dried beans, a lot of cheese, and only a few other things really. As such, I found a few things worth buying but was a bit disappointed overall.As the moment, the restaurant next door is closed temporarily but does have a restart date, so I'll likely come back and try it.

This place is well hidden and they have a great selection for such a small place. You'll find Bulgarian cheeses, Mediterranean oils, a massive spice selection and a meat deli in back. You can find lamb back there and I'm sure it's Halal. The space is tiny, but it's packed with some cool offerings. They also have hookahs for sale and shisha available. I think I spotted a pressure cooker. I'll be back many times for sure!

I don't know how this shop evaded having its own Yelp page for so long. They have a wonderful variety of middle eastern breads, pickles, sweets, lentils, seasoning etc. I do find that the olives and dates here are a little pricey compared to other places. They have a butcher shop too inside. They have different cuts of goat, lamb, chicken (and beef too?) and it's priced reasonably well. One of the best places to get halal meat in Lexington!

Love the restaurant! Hands down the best Mediterranean food I've had in Lexington. During lunch there's pretty much always a line but it's so worth it.

My sister shops here when she comes to Lexington from Corbin Kentucky to buy all her meat. I love going into the market with her and seeing all the wonderful items. I don't come here on a regular basis but enjoy coming 7 or 8 times a year. The items are always fresh and good from the butcher selections.

This is where I come to find unique Mediterranean and middle eastern food items and spices. They have quite a selection and good prices on most things. Definitely check it out and the restaurant too! Amazing food next door.

Sahara has the freshest meat in Lexington! I never buy lamb anywhere else. It's always hand slaughtered and processed in house. I know I'll always get humanely raised and processed meat. Fair price and great quality. They always have a huge! selection of spices. I don't think you could name something they don't carry. I particularly like how they carry a lot of spices whole and ground.
