This is a nice historic park in downtown Georgetown. It's peaceful to walk through here by the water or sit on one of the benches. There are 2 cabins and a picnic shelter. The most interesting part is that it claims to be the birthplace of bourbon!!!

This little park in downtown Georgetown Kentucky was such a quiet relaxing place to visit. It has the house of Elijah Craig which is legendary the inventor of Bourbon. Highly recommend for a short troll in the park along with a history lesson.

My mother was visiting us last summer and we took her to Georgetown on a weekday evening to show her around the historic little town. We were walking along the streets in downtown Georgetown when we accidentally came upon this little gem of historic value. At first glance, I assumed it's just a small park. Once we entered it, we found a small reservoir and a spring. Only on reading some of plaques there, did I learn of its historic significance! Apparently, it has been around since the 1700's and is still the primary source of water for many to this day. There were only a few other people around, some walking their dogs and a couple of teenagers fishing in the creek there. It a beautiful and shady little place for picnics and such. There's also a deck overlooking the park.As we we were leaving, I also caught sight of an old log cabin and clicked some pictures of it. Later, I came to know it's the Leach Cabin that is now a museum of local history. It was not open when we were there so I could not check it out. It's a beautiful park, quite small. Go spend a relaxed evening there!

I looked up a nearby park while in town visiting a friend and this came up close! I used my GPS and I missed my turn into the street because I didn't see a park. I turned around and came down the right street and there was a parking lot and gazebo. All I needed was some shade and a seat to eat, so it was fine for what I needed. There is what looks like a water plant parallel. The street view is very nice. The building looks really neat and there's a former Feed Store. There were clean, empty trash cans!
