Riverview Restaurant

Mom and pop feeling resturaunt overlooking the Ohio river and the lock and dam. We've been a couple of time to the breakfast buffet. The selection is pretty limited (biscuits/gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, fried taters) but reasonably priced and tasted very good. My 9yo's fav breakfast spot. This time they also had home made cinnasugar donuts.

This restaurant has been in our town for close to 50 years. Home cooking style plate lunches, buffet with salad bar and hot food, or menu options like hamburgers, French fries, fried fish and beef manhattans. The restaurant has had multiple owners over the years and things have changed a lot with prices and menu options. It's still a decent place to get food. My only recommendation is to remove the lids from the hot food on the buffet. It's too awkward to have to look under every lid to see what is there, not to mention the potential for bacteria to be transmitted to the lids since everyone that comes to the buffett will be touching the lids. Lids look dirty too, I'm sure it's just staining but it's not appealing to the eye.

Wonderful service and the sandwiches and salads bar was very nice. Very good view of the river.

Beautiful view.Buffet was hot, but not the best. Misses were the mashed potatoes, hashbrown casserole and last scoop of mac and cheese. Maybe because they closed in an hour when we visited, maybe this was the issue. Wins were the scalloped apples, green beans, fried fish and the salad bar.Drinks are an extra 2.25 with buffet just under 14.00. The restaurant is on CST time, perfect stop on a motorcycle ride.The restrooms are down a steep set of stairs and hard for those of older age and or bad knees.

Where do I start. This little diner is awesome. I visit lots of little diners... and should definitely be leaving more reviews... but after walking out of this one I had to review it. The menu selection is limited but it hits all of the hot spots that a breakfast diner should. Nothing too complicated. The staff is friendly and the food came out hot and fast. I got in minutes after they opened and everything was already ready for the day. The diner is clean and overlooks the Ohio river so it was nice to watch the barges go by while I was enjoying breakfast here. Definitely recommend this place. It's awesome. Support local.

This place seemed popular with the locals and a good spot for mill workers to grab a quick lunch. I went for lunch and got the buffet. Options included fried chicken and fish, beef stroganoff, elbow macaroni mixed in with crushed tomatoes, chicken and dumplings, sautéed vegs, a few other things and a salad bar. It was all pretty good but the staff wasn't too friendly. The view of the Ohio river was very nice! Since there isn't much in Hawesville, I would def come here again.

I give this restauant 5 stars for cuteness and view. This is a real southern style local restaurant with a great view. Breakfast buffet was 6.99. Hos can you beat that?

A go to o place for me when I am staying across the river. While tourists on motorcycles stop in on their rides, this restaurant is more a local diner. Food is made well. For breakfast I prefer to order off the menu rather than the breakfast bar. Most of the breakfast patrons seem to opt for it. Lunch menu is good to. The staff are very nice. Great view of the river and locks.Its the place i bring friends when they visit my weekend place-

The view of the Ohio is breathtaking, and you really get up lose to the bank! The food, however,Is a tad disappointing. You can do better at home for less money.
