Rivertown Grill

Four of us for lunch. Started by splitting a half order of chicken livers. The menu stated a half order was a half pound of livers. The livers were very good. However, the order seemed awfully small to be a half pound.. We also tried their cup of gumbo ($9.99). The gumbo was pretty good, but I prefer gumbo made with a brown roux, this gumbo was tomato based.Three of us had the Half Corned Beef Reuben lunch special served with fries ($9.99). The sandwich was average, not bad but nothing outstanding either. The fries were ordered crispy and they arrived as ordered. Fries were very good. One person had the breaded tenderloin sandwich. It looked good and he said he did like it. They have bottle beer, no draft. IMO the highlights were the livers and fries.Service was very good, fast and friendly.

I recently dined at Rivertown Grill and overall, I found it to be a satisfying experience. The pricing is reasonable considering the quality of food they offer. Their pasta dishes are definitely a standout. They looked and tasted fantastic, with rich flavors and perfectly cooked noodles. However, I did encounter a few minor issues. While my burger was delicious, I was a bit disappointed that the onions weren't sautéed and the mushrooms were cold, clearly from a can. Additionally, the fries could have been crispier.Despite these small shortcomings, I believe these issues could easily be rectified by the kitchen staff. With such tasty options and decent pricing, Rivertown Grill is definitely worth a visit for those craving quality Italian fare.

Tried Rivertown for the first time while in town. Food was mediocre. The burger was OK. It tasted like a froze. Patty- I don't know that it is- just on the same par. It had a very strong pepper taste. I ordered it without the bun. Our party had the Ruben as well and it was ok- it was compared to Arby's and Arby's winning. The positives: service was GREAT! Our waitress was very nice, friendly and attentive. It was reported that the crawfish étouffée was "very good." The dill ranch was good as well! It was pretty quiet and there was only one other table. I could see it being a fun place to have a drink or two and meet up with a friend. If you're looking for a place with good atmosphere and service and don't really care about quality of food, this place is right on par!

I ordered seafood gumbo and my wife got the lobster bisque. Both came out cold after a 15 minute wait. The gumbo may have contained seafood, but I didn't see any. I didn't eat most of it because the rice was undercooked and crunchy We asked to speak with a manager, but nobody showed up.

Nice place- just a bar but had some other food options. Pizza was just ok and Alfredo wasn't that good. Hamburgers were good.

Super bland food that was basically twice as expensive as it should have been. Ordered the twister fries and butterfly shrimpGot regular fries, and just regular shrimp. That was honestly not a big deal, just thought it was funny. The main problem was the price of really not good food. Service was fine.

F minus!!!! Service was bad. Waited over 30 minutes to be served...then a family with kids come in and bam they are served Instantly? Yet i have to wait? sounds like preferential treatment to me.Food prices are outrageous. Stay away from this place!!

Butterfly shrimp is tiny, fries are frozen out of a bag, just plain ol crinkle fries like Walmart sells, Cole slaw was inedible and side salad was as well. For what they charge they should serve real butterfly shrimp being they're calling it that and make their own fries instead buying cheap frozen, salad was just terrible. Overhaul for price charged left feeling ripped off.

Try the pizza. Trust me. Tenderloin sandwich is also a winner. Our favorite in Madison

Went to have lunch on a Sunday late afternoon, wasn't busy at all. The server was very pleasant. After placing our order, we waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Our order was cold and soggy and just not edible. We were discounted the price of the food.We will never return and will never recommend this restaurant to anyone.They get one star for the server.
