My city's outside venue for shows and events. Located along the Ohio River in downtown New Albany, the Riverfront Amphitheater is home to concerts, plays, movies, and special events. It's also available to rent. It's also a major hub during the Harvest Homecoming Festival in October, and where the beer tent area is. I'm including the park in this review. The amphitheater itself sits in a park. Both are located directly behind the flood wall and the YMCA in downtown. Along with the amphitheater, there is a boat ramp, skateboard area with ramps, a playground, basketball goals, restrooms, off-street parking, and a walking/cycling path that is a part of the Ohio River Greenway. This is always a pit stop/water break spot for me when I cycle. There's plenty of benches and I think it's a nice spot to sit and relax a bit. If you can't have the ocean, a river view will definitely do! The past couple of years New Albany has finally started to come around. (It's sure taken a while.) The park system and this park have benefited from some of those changes and the Ohio River Greenway, when completed, is sure to make it even better. The current mayor has added a lot of events to the city's calendar in the past few years and things are looking up for the city and this park/amphitheater. If you're in downtown, cut through the flood wall and take a peek. If it's flooded, park at the YMCA and walk up the steps to the lookout; it's a great view. There's also a walking track up on top of the flood wall. Great little park and amphitheater.

Very nice place to watch a play or any other performance. A train may interrupt what's happening, but you get to watch the train up close. Not much shade. Plenty of room for blankets and folding chairs. Bathrooms are close by. Parking is a bit limited. The view is excellent. Sat in front of the mayor for a performance, so the place has political support. Smaller than the one in Jeffersonville but very nice.

What a venue. Free concerts over looking the river. Lots of seats and a tip top sky balcony too. This place has to be rocking when the band's play so look for the concerts. I wish I was here for one
