Reno's of Wise

We were passing thru town and needed lunch. This was convenient to the gas station we were at so we decided to give it a try. I had the nachos and they were just okay. My spouse had the chicken which she said was kind of dry. The service was good. If I lived in the area I'd probably give it another try.

Well, tried to eat there but couldn't the hostess was having a bad day before I got there. I asked for a booth and I could tell she was not happy about that for some reason and she said "I'll try". So she takes us to a half booth. My husband is a bigger person and he doesnot feel comfortable at those small tables, so I said, we can't sit here,we'll have to leave if this is all you have. We could see plenty of empty booths and she said that we had to sit in this particular servers section. I said sorry and was walking out, when my husband said couldn't the server walk an extra 10 feet and she said not if you already have 30 tables you can't. There was no way one server had 30 tables. I feel she was very rude for no reason. obviously did not care to lose the business.

Gathered here for a large(ish) family meal. My family, my brothers' and my parents. We had reservations which I highly recommend and were immediately seated as we arrived on time.The place was packed and had a lot of folks enjoying themselves. The staff was good, prompt and attentive. I think the leadership/management of the place must be doing a decent job.It was right down the fairway of solidly good food. I started with a cup of soup (loaded potato) which I enjoyed. They also put out some baskets of freshly baked rolls which hit the spot. I enjoyed the cinnamon butter with it.For the meal I had the fried catfish. Wow! That was a lot with three fillets on there. Couldn't finish them all. I had mashed potatoes and baked beans as my sides and would recommend all of it.

The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was cleanliness. The rail along seats and lanterns could use a good dusting. Besides that service was friendly and food was delicious. I had pork ribeye and hubby had pork chops. Green bean side was pretty bland despite being cooked with bacon. Also waitress never took any dirty dishes away... Just pet peeve of mine but when sitting at a booth for 2 it is nice to have some room.

I loved this place! Very nice bourbon selection, friendly service, trendy, clean and the food was very good. They have a jukebox for some Friday night music in the bar area that added some fun. No, just No. The Rosebud (aka bloomin onion) is terrible. The steak was over cooked. The asparagus was mushy. The broccoli was tiny little niblets. The service was average. We just had to ask for every little thing instead of it being automatic (i.e. we had to ask for refills on our water). $80 for three people - not worth it. Save your $$$

The waitress is probably a college girl--very nice. Brought rolls and drinks as soon as we ordered (those good yeasty rolls). I ordered 14.00 Pork Chops (w sweet potato & asparagus). Hubs ordered 23.00 rack of ribs (mashed taters & broccoli). We each got soft drinks. Today is hubs birthday-she says he will get an "ice cream surprise".We are here in the early part of the evening 4:15 pm. In the back room with only one other table. Very relaxed atmosphere-a little dark in here, but laid back.Ribs were good and saucy. Pork chops nicely grilled--almost tasted like steak. (Only issue--I didn't know there was cheese on the asparagus and hubs said mashed potatoes were "odd". Otherwise food really good and service too.)Our waitress was Kat. Completely filthy restaurant. Watched staff picking nose. There were piles of food and trash in the floor. when finally taken to a table the booth was so gross and staff gave attitude when we requested the table and seat be cleaned. Did not stay to eat and left. Got more attitude when we informed them we weren't eating there.

I was really disappointed with the food at Reno's of Wise, VA. Ordered prime rib medium rare. After 2 attempts it was cooked done. I don't think I will be back. Had to take ticket to register to pay. Waitress never came to check on drinks.

My waitress Sam was very kind and was the most redeemable quality at this restaurant. The prices are steep for what you are getting. 20 dollars for catfish is absurd, considering it was greasy and the seasoning was just not very satisfying. My girlfriend got a ribeye steak sandwich that was as thin as the receipt for the meal. It was incredibly dry and not worth 16 dollars.
