Great place to stay while exploring the Red River area or just getting away for a few days' peace and quiet. The cabins are close to hiking trails and extremely clean. This was a last minute trip so I didn't have the opportunity to take advantage of the yoga classes or the firepit, but there is always next time. Highly recommend this place to stay while in the area!

When on a hiking vacation, I like to find a little cabin close to the trails that can serve as a home base for explorations and a respite from daily exertions. Red River Outdoors (RRO) fit this bill for a recent two-day trip to Red River Gorge. The cabin, Wagon Wheel, we occupied wasn't huge, but big enough for four adults. The kitchen was well appointed and adequately stocked. It was clean and comfortable. Really appreciated the hiking guide in the cabin, the internet access in the yurt, and the trails up the hill. And the price was great. The place is a little tricky to find, but the map sent to us beforehand was helpful. Only negative was the requirement that we carry our garbage out. Wished the conditions and our time would have allowed us to take advantage of the fire pit and the yoga classes. Next time I am in this part of Kentucky, I will be sure to stay here again.

Wendy and Craig were extremely responsive when I emailed them with questions before and after booking. They were both courteous upon our arrival. The cabin was clean and had lots of things we didn't expect (plenty of cooking utensils, dinnerware, dehumidifier, A/C, etc). The water pressure and hot water were excellent. There's a firepit close to the cabins. Unfortunately, we're city folk and weren't able to get the fire going. Maybe we should have YouTubed it! But it was nice that they had a storage tub full of chairs and a picnic bench. The entrance to the property can be easy to miss because it is at a steep grade, but Wendy and Craig emailed us very specific directions that we printed out and had no problems. Everything was great about our stay. Except for that wasp that wouldn't leave. We also booked a climbing tour through RRO. Dan was our guide and did an awesome job. Highly recommended if you are into climbing but don't have all the gear and/or experience to lead and set.

I'll start by saying that their cabins are nice. But they advertise hospitality, and you'll get none of that. Customer service is the worst that I have ever had at any business of any type.I booked all of their cabins for my family to stay in during my wedding. I thought everything was fine until I returned from my honeymoon. Then my mother told me about "the incident". The new owners have changed their trash policy. They have no place to collect trash, and you are expected to take it with you when you leave, or let it pile up in your cabin and pay a $10 removal fee. Some of the cabins had the old documentation, instructing the occupants to take their trash to a community dumpster. When they followed these instructions they were "greeted" by the owner who proceeded to yell at them and never would give them a straight answer to their questions about the trash situation. My family was quite shaken up by the hostile attitude. Some of my family also had trouble finding the place because of bad signage (that problem has since been rectified). After hearing about these problems my wife decided to contact the owners to relay the issues that my family had with their stay, to explain why there was confusion about the trash, and to seek an apology over the way my family was treated just for following directions. Unfortunately, it only got worse at that point. Their response was hostile, full of excuses, and borderline threatening. Because of the way they treat their customers I must give them the lowest possible star rating.

Great people, great cabins with convenient location to local attractions, and the best rock climbing guides in the Red, whether you're an elite climber, or going out for your first time.
