Saw a great artist last night at the Red Barn Radio! An award-winning instrumentalist, Blakeley Burger has studied fiddle/violin for 15 years, as well as guitar and mandolin. For the past seven years, she has performed regionally as both a soloist and an ensemble member at a range of venues, including: the Kentucky Center for the Arts, the Frazier History Museum, the Norton Center for the Arts, the Lexington Opera House, the Iroquois Amphitheatre, the Brown Theatre, the Station Inn, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and the Kentucky State Senate. Blakeley has been honored by the North American Country Music Association, the Tennessee/Georgia Country and Gospel Music Association, and the Twin Lakes National Fiddle Contest. She can be seen touring with Tin Whiskey Sisters or performing locally with Yapa! Great show and what a great gem in our community!

If you are a music lover don't miss attending Red Barn Radio. The Wednesday evening performances feature various music genres, focusing on the talents coming out of Kentucky and surrounding states. Shows are recorded with you as part of the live audience in an intimate setting. The audience is essentially on stage with the performers and you have an opportunity to mix and mingle with the musicians after the show!Showtime is 7pm on Wednesday's at Arts Place located in downtown Lexington.

Had a great night last night with fellow Yelpers at Red Barn Radio at ArtPlace! My niece's bluegrass band, the Slaw Shredders, had the evening to themselves and put on an incredible performance! https://youtu.be/Xv5OErgsPSYIf you like live music, but you've never been to Red Barn Radio, you owe it to yourself to go. Check their calendar and find a genre of music that appeals to you. Then you can buy tickets online or pay at the door. The shows are ten bucks, quite inexpensive for the experience you get.In its 18th year, Red Barn is produced by filmmaker Ed Commons, who has a fantastic eye/ear for upcoming talent. As the name suggests, it's a radio show, but it's also videotaped and aired live on FB and YouTube. Incredibly, last night was the show's 686th performance.Brad Becker, a musician himself, handles the MC duties and interviews the performers in between songs. His interview style is laid back and friendly and his interviews always add insight into the evening's entertainmentOriginally established in 1904 as a YMCA, in 1979 ArtsPlace, was founded after extensive renovations to 161 North Mill Street. It now functions as a music studio, performance space, and art gallery. As the show is broadcast live, there are a couple of things to keep in mind:* Try to arrive on time* Don't be surprised if you have cameras, tripods, and camera operators obscuring your view from time to time* Be enthusiastic with your applause, but keep your mouth shut while the performers are doing their thing.Red Barn Radio is largely an unknown Lexington treasure! Get out there and support it! Not sure about going? Check out Red Barn's YouTube site where they've archived hundreds of shows from the last 18 years.

Inexpensive way to see a live funk band and enjoy music. Seating was ample and you were right there in front ( no bad seating). Fun time to spend a few hours in Lexington, Ky.
