Hard to find pieces found to put it back whole again

After mauling one of my mother's hand made quilts for far too long, I finally got it together and found a place where it could be properly repaired. This is a piece of art in its way, and should be made whole again. I did a quick search and came across Quilters Square. I called and explained the situation, and was assured they would be able to repair the quilt. I went to their location on Moore Dr. just behind the Wendy's on Nicholasville rd. I spoke with the owners, both of whom were courteous and friendly. The one who does quilt repair said she should be able to repair it back close to its original state, but that she may not be able to find exact matches to each piece that was originally used, as some were in too worn a state to simply sew back on. They told me it would take a while to finish the repairs. I said three months would be fine, and felt that was a reasonable amount of time to give her. I was later told that quilts take more like five to six months to complete due to the number of quilts that come in for repair and only one person working on them. I was called after about five months and told it was ready. I went in and a different person was working up front, but she was also friendly and welcoming. She found my quilt, which looked to be like new again. I was charged the original estimate price, with no extra charges for what was certainly a good deal of careful, painstaking stitchwork. After getting the quilt back home, I went over it and was highly impressed. She did an excellent, thorough job of repairs and the quilt was whole again. I am not familiar with all aspects of their business at Quilters Square, but as for sewing needs, especially quilt work, I highly recommend them. But be patient, as it will take some time. But the end result is certainly worth the wait.Update: since getting my quilt back, a number of the squares have again come undone from the stitching, which is disappointing. Guess this is just how the quilt will be from now on.

I always feel inspired when I visit Quilter's Square. I love the displays of quilts including modern quilts. The new location is a huge improvement. The staff clearly understands quilting and they've been helpful when I need advice on products and fabrics.

Stopped in while traveling just before closing time. So glad we did too. They have a wonderful selection of modern fabrics. I was able to see some full collections I had not see in person before. Even better, they have Art Gallery solids. I could just stand at their Art Gallery wall all day. So soft and buttery. Need a Kona solid? They probably have it. They have a good variety of modern designers, holiday fabrics, and blenders. As another reviewer noted, they do tear the fabric vs rotary cutting. It's different, but I'm willing to see how that impacts the fabric when cutting.

I always stop here when I'm Lexington. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Bought pattern & fabric to make a rag quilt they had on display. Love watching them work on their Bernina long arm.

Seems like a nice quilt shop but not friendly. Each time I've been there I've never been spoken to and they weren't busy when I was there either time. I like the shop but have never bought anything bc of that. I probably won't go back.

They tear the fabric rather than cutting it, this drives me crazy!! i waste a couple inches due to that thus a WASTE OF MY MONEY, rather cutting a quarter inch off, i have to cut like 1-2 inches off so i can have a clean cut. This is why as a local i shop on etsy very frequently and only go here if i need something fast (if they have it bc they dont carry whole collections for the most part). Customer service i wouldnt rate a 3 but overall store id give a 3. As a local business i do feel they need and should be better in customer service.

They have changed locations. The new location is better for their classes. The selection of fabric is okay. Prices are on the high side. The set up of the new store leaves something to be desired. I would caution any customer to be careful what information they share, because they are not considerate with about the customer's privacy. I'd suggest going to a different shop unless you're absolutely desperate...and even then, I'd reconsider.

Their customer service is awful!!! On July 10th, 2017, I stopped by Quilter's Square with my 80 year old mother, to get an estimate on having them machine quilt a memory blanket that my mother had made for my 50th birthday. From the moment we encountered the woman behind the cash register, until we left the store, we were subject to the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. The attitude, tone of voice and disposition of the first woman and subsequently her daughter, was condescending, unprofessional and just down-right rude! We were made to feel that we were a bother to help and that the work my mother had put into the quilt top was inferior and unacceptable.Unfortunately, this is not the first time that we have been treated this way by the owners of this shop. Approximately 4 years ago, we brought in a different quilt top for an estimate. And, to our disappointment, we were treated in the same manner. I am willing to accept that everyone has an off day. We are all human and one never knows what is truly going on in the life of another. This is why I am always willing to give someone a second chance. However, July 10th was Quilter's Square's second opportunity to redeem themselves and provide quality service. Unfortunately they failed which is the reason for this honest review.Me and the women in my family will no longer do business with this shop. And, if given the opportunity, I will share our experience with as many people as possible so hopefully no one else will be subject to such treatment. It is my hope that the owners of this shop will see this review, remember our visit on the 10th and the comments I have shared will cause them reflect on their behavior and how they treat their customers. It was truly unacceptable.

I truly enjoyed this store with it's welcoming atmosphere and helpful staff. The owner was quick to say hello as I entered the store. The organization of fabric is beautiful for inspiration and creativity! The uniqueness of the store's "ripping" of fabric is amazing to see and I'm not sure it isn't better than cutting with scissors, but it is a sound I'll just have to get used to hearing. The prices are competitive with other quilting/fabric stores, and the array of patterns leaves me wanting to purchase more than I'll ever use! Check it out!

I really want to like this shop. I have been there several times but have difficulty finding inspiration when looking at the fabric. I don't even try to ask the staff for help because they are so unfriendly. They would rather talk to each other than the customer even when you are standing in front of them. The one time I asked a question, I received a rude response and got no help. I felt like I was bothering them. So I have decided not to go back.
