Good cheap place to eat if you're in Clifton! The food is great, service not so much. This place is also cash only,Which is a bit of pain but I can get over it for the price :)

Not sure how this restaurant stays in business but glad they do! Where else can you get a 3 piece hand battered fried chicken meal with cole slaw and side for less than $10?? Best cole slaw I have ever had.Wait staff was extremely friendly and efficient!Humble atmosphere that felt like your grandparents basement.

The restaurant has been around for a very long time and it's only been recently that I had breakfast. I am so glad I did. The home fries were great, the bacon was exactly how I like it and I got refills without having to ask. The place is small, simple and without fanfare. Prices are good and I will be back.

I cannot complain! I've been here like five times already and always found the food DELICIOUS! So this place is a family run diner and is only open in the morning to afternoon. The decor is very homely, with photos and trophies adorning the walls. The server is the sweetest! This is a CASH ONLY place so make sure you have cash on you.Absolutely recommend the omelettes (whichever you prefer), hashbrowns, goetta and the fish sandwich. If you are having breakfast, everything is mostly accompanied by a perfect toast! The pancakes and french toast are good too! The price is extremely reasonable and an expansive breakfast would cost like $6!

Stopped by this forever famous Clifton Gas light district spot on Ludlow Ave. I haven't been here in a very long while and usually get the fried chicken.Today I was feeling just a quick meal and went with the club sandwich. Always delicious and sooo cheap. Friendly service and always a great breakfast place.

Similar to: Price Hill Chili, Sugar n' Spice and Tucker's - a dated (but affordable) diner with very traditional offerings. You will not find avocado toast here, and that's fine. Not every breakfast joint needs to be a hipster haven (except, well, the inside is so 1970's with faux wood paneling and laminate that I figured I WOULD see hipsters in here). I got the bacon & cheese omelette since the menu didn't really offer anything more exotic. My only real gripe: the coffee. It was pretty awful. At first it tasted to me almost like tea, but I saw him pour the second cup from a coffee pot I knew that wasn't possible. Bizarre. I'd be back for an ultra-casual breakfast meeting, to introduce someone out of Cincinnati to goetta (they have a spicy goetta offering) or to clear out some change... after all, this rooster accepts cash only.

genuinely the best breakfast I've ever had for a great deal. It's a homey breakfast and lunch cafe that has great coffee, delicious and fluffy pancakes, and goetta. The best thing is that everything on the menu is such a good deal, you barely feel like you've spent anything! Also, super kind staff. It's a smaller business and there was one waitress working, which was super impressive because she handled everything. Will be back!

NO NO NO NO NO NO!!! The place smells like too many years of too much grease and far too little cleaning. My water glass came with LIPSICK on it!! GROSS!!!! No bathrooms for their guests. No knowledge of what a poached egg is - not inability to make one - literally deer in headlights when I asked if they offered poached eggs. We saw several tables that arrived after us get served before us. We were the second-to-last table in the place that hadn`t been served after an hour-long wait. Despite that, our table of there was served in multiple stages and they forgot an order of potatoes, an orange juice, and my toast. When the waitress finally came around, I reminded her about the toast and asked to have my over-medium eggs (now cold) remade to come out with the toast - and with an attitude, she said that she could only - microwave them - and NOT remake them... Two eggs, that were cold because of their incompetence, and they couldn`t be bothered to make it right... I order my eggs over-medium because I like to dip them. A microwave, despite the ick factor, would NOT render them medium. When my "toast" did come, it was nothing more than semi-warm bread. This place is a NO!

I love this place. By far my favorite breakfast restaurant. Old-timey atmosphere with yummy, cheap food
