Simply the best meat available in the area. Obviously more expensive than what you'll find at the supermarket, but it's worth it. Fantastic quality and selection.

What a great meat shop this is. Not only do they have everything you need but they will even tell me the right meat to use for whatever I am wanting to cook. Their chicken salad & meatloaf are amazing!! Stay away from the cookies tho because you will eat the whole package before you know it.

A small hidden gem in the wide open! They've been open for a while now and I'm just now stopping in. Why did I wait so long!?As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the sweetest lady behind the deli counter. She answered every question with a knowledgeable answer and also a joke and giggle. You see wall to wall food. It's like a supermarket packed into a 1000 sq foot area. Anything from Lemons, chicken buffalo dip, bacon, organic milk, seasonings, pretzel buns, fish, steaks, burgers, Venison, Elk and beer. It's all here, a true one stop shop. The "Tomahawk" was AMAZING! 13.99lb....a little over 2lbs. Slow cooked for an hour, wow it was delicious! Delicious pretzel buns and the bacon cheddar burgers were to die for!The burgers were formed and packed in the back, boxed and ready to pop on the grill. The owner is one of the Hubers, so of course they have several of the most requested Huber items...Huber wine being one of the major items. Apple butter and fruit are available too.We will definitely be stopping in here more often!

Great cuts of meat, reasonably priced and fresh. They gladly cut what you need and have a delicious array of steaks, roasts, ribs and an interesting tomahawk steak. Deli case, prepackaged potato salad and spinach dips. Sauces, spices and much more. Fresh eggs, fresh milk and more things within the small, but plentiful meat market.Nicest people work here and look forward to picking up excellent items for the grill.

We had no idea this meat shop was owned by Hubers until we arrived, which made it that much cooler!! Preferred meats has the friendliest, most helpful staff. There's an excellent selection of meats, seafood, sides, wines, dips and other products you can normally pick up at Huber farms. We got some thick cut pork chops, twice baked potatoes and a bottle of Pops Reserve during our trip - only about $20 which made for a great dinner for two. I recommend this shop.

I live in Greenwood, so Preferred Meats is not close to my home. Luckily I stopped here after watching a gymnastics meet in New Albany. There was so much to choose from and everything looked so good that I had a tough time choosing what to get. I went with some slices of pepper jack cheese, two ground chuck patties and three beef tenderloins.I'll be honest, the prices were much higher than I normally spend but I figured it wouldn't hurt to pay the extra and see if it was worth it. I grilled the burgers later that evening and thought the one I cooked for me tasted better than any burger I'd had before, but wasn't convinced that it was the meat that made it taste so good - it could have been the chef (Ha!).The following night my wife fixed the tenderloins in the broiler. I took the first bite and looked at my wife (who had taken her first bite) and I could see that she was thinking the same thing as me - this steak is amazing!!! So tender and not an ounce of fat. It tasted as good (if not better) than one I had last month at Ruth's Chris.I can't wait to stop by Huber's Preferred Meats again when I'm in the area. By the way, it's right off the interstate (I-65) so it's a breeze to pop in and out.One more thing... the service! They are SO nice! Plus, when I got home I found that they had put paper between every slice of cheese!
