Poppy's Bakery

I woke up early and decided to take a drive and get the kids something sweet for breakfast. So where to go? Should I go into Louisville or towards Frankfort? I jumped on my trusty Yelp app and looked up bakeries and found Poppy's Bakery in Frankfort. I've been to Frankfort numerous times; but, had never taken a drive down that road. I am so glad I tried Poppy's out. From the moment I got out of my car I could smell the fresh baked goodies. One word.....heavenly. The lady working was so patient with me after I told her this was my first visit. Everything looked so delicious. I chose an assortment or cinnamon rolls, raspberry filled donuts, cheese danish and cherry creamCheese danish. When I say this was the best danish Ive ever had I mean it! The danishes almost had a brûléed texture. One bite into that initial crunch then sweet, pillowy dough. My heavens...I'll be going there plenty. They had a wide variety of baked yummies that I'm sure would get a thumbs up from even the toughest critic. Thanks Yelp for the recommendation. I honestly would've never drove that way otherwise. Try it out y'all.

A very serviceable bakery with good doughnuts at an affordable price. We stopped by on our way to grab bourbon at Buffalo Trace and the donuts were a good add for the trail.It's a quick stop over and very easy to get in and out. I probably wouldn't make a special trip, but if you're in the area - definitely stop by!

Found this place on yelp while looking for a doughnut shop close to Frankfort. All I can say is wow! Sleeply little place right around the corner from Buffalo Trace. The donuts are amazing I suggest the maple bacon. Service was fast and friendly, great doughnut shop!

My son has been bragging about this place, Our 1st stop & this is a pretty good bakery.Very friendly & worth the visit....

So quaint, but so many options. We have tried the red velvet cake donut, regular yeast, coconut cake, apple fritter and Bavarian cream filled. Everything is delicious! It is very busy every time so get there early.

Amazing stop en route to Buffalo Trace. Incredibly friendly, home town feel and delicious pastries. Highly recommend!

Literally driving by on the way to a distillery to pick up a gift and saw poppy's bakery. Figured we would stop and get something to snack on and grabbed several different items. All were good, but the buckeye's and the donuts are amazing!!! If you love sweet treats and are in the area you need to stop and treat yourself (pun intended). So yummy wish I lived closer!

Delicious donuts! The case was full of all kinds and the young lady behind the counter was super patient about answering our questions of what was offered (and what was yummiest!) We ordered a dozen donuts which I believe included sour cream, red velvet, chocolate, blueberry, maple...Poppy's had it all! Price was reasonable considering they were homemade and tasted amazing. Highly recommend if in Frankfort!

Best by far I've Ever tasted, I drove from Lexington just to try them! I had some white cake with pink frosting. Which was heavenly! This place is Exceptional! I'm wondering why didn't anyone tell me sooner! Lol

Nice selection of sweets. I got a sour cream donut and a chocolate croissant. Everything looked lovely. Service was fine but not super friendly.
