Ponderosa Steakhouse

Made another 50 minute trip out to Hillsboro just to go to Ponderosa. The line was out the door because there were 3 large parties ahead of us. They held the line until they could get them paid and sat. So another 40 min wait. I thought the parties would destroy the buffet, but they kept the buffet stocked and clean.

Very nostalgic and brings back memories from my childhood. If you have kids definitely a fun experience. Fried chicken is spot on. Service was wonderful!

Purely based on the nostalgia, this is getting 4 stars. It was very clean and the staff, especially Zebediah, were so friendly. Not as many selections as I remember, but it was still a good selection. All food was hot and fresh. The dessert bar had some great options. Standouts were the rolls! Yeasty and delicious.It was disappointing they ran out of chicken wings and they're no longer on the buffet. You have to order in advance if you would like them. Also, fried fish is only available on Friday. I ordered the seafood combo in addition to the buffet and it was really tasty with fresh cooked grilled salmon, fried and grilled shrimp. Price point was decent for the buffet, a little pricey for the buffet + combo, but the portions make up for it. I would definitely return if just for the memories!

The food was fresh & well prepared! The service was excellent & the place was busy for a Saturday morning at opening. The seating is well spaced & easy to get around.

While we enjoyed the buffet here, this is not the Ponderosa we have come to love. I did order my sirloin tips to find out they are not the Ponderosa sirloin tips. This location is clean and well lit and very busy.

My wife and I frequent Ponderosa. Their Buffay and salad bar is always very fresh and very good. The pricing is very good also. They rotate the menu items that they have on the Buffay so if you go frequently, you don't end up eating the same things over and over again. It's really a really really good place to eat and you can even get steak there obviously and they have good deals where you can get a steak and the Buffay and then you don't take the steak home and eat it if you don't want it the same day? It's just a really good place to go.

Pondo, just remaining in existence is enough for 4 stars. In Hillsboro, this a staple for a "nicer" meal. It seats many, so grab the whole family and head over for the buffet.It is pricy, especially on Sundays. $13.99 will get you the full buffet. There is a decent amount of selection but for one or two plates, it doesn't quite add up. Food itself is good in my opinion! You can't expect the best cuisine on planet Earth but it's Ponderosa for goodness sake. Sit down, enjoy the grub and tip your waitress. Famous chicken wings are a must, super crunchy and mostly batter, just how I like it. Broccoli and cheese cooked well, still crunchy. Mac and cheese, greens, mashed potatoes and gravy- allllll the fixins'. YUM. So don't get too sophisticated, people, and enjoy a nostalgic buffet.

It's a sizzles like setup that serves some decent fried chicken and fish. Everything is kinda prepackaged and heated up, but it's not horrible. Clean restaurant fir the most part. The servers are not overly friendly but who is anymore...

The food is substandard. The only reason people eat here is because it is a buffet and they can eat all they want. Any day of the week it is meatloaf, fried chicken, or pizza. Never varies.
