As summer winds down and with kids back in school, I thought it the perfect time to try out Plainview Swim club. What a find! For only $8, you get to enjoy a huge, L-shaped pool with lap lanes, a dive pool, an 18 & over pool (yay), and a kiddie pool with fountain. This afternoon, the pool is almost exclusively adults since kids aren't yet home. I scored one of the tables w/an umbrella next to a pair of lounge chairs. My friend and I have the best of both sun and shade. The pools and grounds are meticulously maintained providing a gorgeous surrounding to relax. There's plenty of parking and the front gate folks are friendly. A snack bar has treats close at hand, but I haven't ventured over to it yet.I imagine this place is hopping in the peak summer months especially being in the middle of a large, planned community with apartments on several sides. For today, this public pool feels like a private club. I'll definitely be back!

Love this pool. First year finding it but it will definitely be a pool I visit each summer. Love the different designated areas (adult pool, toddler pool, diving board pool then the big pool).

We wenot to Plainview for tennis because the courts we usually play at we're getting resurface. We asked if we could use the clay courts and Matt Mathis (tennis) said we could not and that they were reserved but we're never used in the 1.5 hours that we were there. He said we could use the hard courts so we did. A week later we came back and after a few minutes Matt came out again and said we could not have tennis lessons there and could finish but would need to find another place to play next time. I asked if I could apply to be his assistant so that I could bring lessons there and he told me to call him after tennis which I did. A few days later he tells me that they aren't hiring and even says that we can't even play on the courts lesson or just play. I asked him were the courts not public and he threatened to call the police and I asked for what? what law have we broken by playing tennis? my friends were Black and Indian...Horrible experience

As far as places that a non member ($8 admission) can go in the Louisville area for swimming and laying out by a pool...this place tops the list. I only discovered this place last summer, and have been back a couple of times since. It is in a mainly residential neighborhood and feels like you are in the middle of a park. They have 3 different pools: a main lap sized pool, a kiddie pool, and an adults only pool (my favorite). They also have loads of lounging chairs which is a huge plus to me. I mainly go to pools to lay out and socialize with whoever I am there with! Plainview has a concession stand as well, though I have not bought anything from it.They allow you to come in and out as you please during that same day too. I like that because sometimes I may want to go grab a bite to eat and come back. :)

First visit here today and overall it was a good experience. We bought the $30/5 admissions pass which is a great deal. Weather was perfect and pools were practically empty until about 2:30 when school let out. I like the 3 separate pool areas -- adult only, kiddies pool, and family pool. Each is kind of small but because of the way it's divided up by group, it feels comfortable still. We chose the family pool and were able to maneuver past the kids to the 5' end. Water was chilly when we first got in, but do-able. (I think I'm just spoiled by the heated pool in Clarksville). There's a small concession stand, and the bathroom area was large and clean. And the lounge chairs were plentiful and comfortable. 2 disappointments: there were a couple of ducks swimming with us, and several boys kept trying to scare/hurt them. I finally said something to them since the lifeguard didn't. Also annoying: one man had brought his own radio tuned to country music and very loud. The lifeguard did ask him to turn the volume down once, but 5 minutes later, he turned it back up. My experience has been that most aquatic facilities provide music on speakers, and don't allow personal radios ... But not here. So be warned if like me, you really aren't a country music fan. Beyond that however, we enjoyed the facility and will definitely be back. There aren't many outdoor pools in Louisville open to the public ... And this is a fine choice.

Fun pools. Great staff. Friendly patrons. And perfect location in town. All these features and more are pushing this up to the top of my public pool list. Grab a frequent swim card brings your entry fee down to $5 a person.

Really fun! I couldn't believe they have 4 pools. We'll come back and visit the adult one sans kiddos. The whole place is kept up amazingly well. It's situated behind on old estate which is now a community center so it's very picturesque. We signed up for a family membership on the spot. $345 for a family of 4.. (One visit is $32, so if we go 10-11 times it's a wash.) Excited!

It's great to find a public pool in this area that still has a club vibe. For years I've lived in Louisville and looked for a watering hole of any sort. Finally, I found this place trough a friend. You can bring a small cooler but you can't have any glass . There might be a few more restrictions too. It costs $8 a day to get in or you can get a punch card for five visits for $30. We knew we were coming back so we opted for that. They have a diving board, lap lanes, a kid pool with a fountain , anddddd an adult pool!!! You can bring noodles, and I even noticed they had sunscreen dispensers. I'm so happy to have a place I can go to on hot days like this! Kentucky's heat is no joke! Why aren't there more pools?!?! Smh

What do you do when it gets hot in Louisville and you and all of your friends are no longer apartment-dwellers with free pool access?! Apparently, you check out Plainview Swim Club. I wouldn't have even heard of this place if it weren't for recent activity on my Yelp news feed. The swim club is tucked in the Plainview neighborhood and you'll find tennis courts next door. Not sure if that's open to the public or the cost of that, but it's worth looking into. My friends and I lined up at the entrance where you pay for admission. Since there were five of us, we saved money by paying for one 5-day pass for $30 instead of $8 per person admission. Also, they take credit cards! When you walk in, there's a large pool on the right, a diving pool behind that, a small child pool further on, and the adults-only pool is to the left. They also offer concessions (they take cards as well), including ice cream, drinks, and other typical concession-style fare. It's worth noting they don't serve alcohol, though.I definitely want to take advantage of this pool again before it cools down for the season and I highly recommend you check it out if you're also looking for a place to swim!

I very much enjoy visiting this pool! They have great facilities for the whole family. Although I'm not a tennis player, the courts look nice, and the pool area is very well maintained. I really enjoy the adult only area because when I go to the pool I like to lay out or float on a raft without being splashed a lot by some nearby kiddos. From time to time they have events and a dj so that's pretty cool as well. I also like that the price to get in is very fair as I have been to other pools that are not as nice that cost a lot more. If you try it out and like it, they have a discount pass where you can get in for cheaper rates for 5 visits. While this pool is a little farther from my house it's totally worth it!!!
