What an awesome establishment with awesome history! We saw Belvis perform here a few months back for our first experience and can not wait to see what is offered this summer. It's such a cool outdoor theater! We didn't take part in their dinner prior to the show but will in the future!! Can't wait to go to another show! It wasn't the most accessible place but for its age, we made do! Everyone was beyond willing to help when needed too!

We enjoyed the show. Dinner was good, though nothing fancy. A nice summertime thing to do and I would recommend.

Good country food. BBQ chicken and/or Pulled pork, corn pudding, green beans, and rolls. Brownies or cookies for dessert. Nice open air setting for dinner. Website was user friendly and reservations were easily made over the phone. Fun, relaxing atmosphere. The summer play production was great. Very enjoyable. I highly recommend it. Excellent place for first, second, or 100th date.

I have lived in Danville my whole life, and every year I look forward to summer just so I can attend a play under the stars at Kentucky's oldest (and definitely most unique) outdoor theatre. Though I am young, I enjoy antiquities, ingenuity, history and anything hand-made, all of things which make Pioneer Playhouse what it is! Eben Henson would barter manual labor for use of old materials from construction sites, movie sets or trash heaps and built the entire playhouse by hand...brick-by-brick! Each piece of the playhouse has a story, and his family is always there and happy to tell you of their daddy's legend. John Travolta, Jim Varney, Bo Hopkins & Kim Darby (True Grit) are just a few who have been familiar faces on this stage. If you haven't been, you need to go. I love it and I always have!

I love this place!! My boyfriend and I went to see Sherlock Holmes last night and it could not have been better! Funny, entertaining, and nothing beats a play under the stars. Pioneer Playhouse is the hidden gem of Kentucky! Friendly staff. $1 popcorn. And extreme talent! A must-do in Kentucky!
