I had the pleasure of staying at the Pillow and Paddock B&B in La Grange, Kentucky this past week. As one of the last guests of the owners, Don and Francesca Jensen, before they sold their B&B and retired, I understand why they have always had 5-star reviews. If I could, I would give them 10 stars! Their Pillow and Paddock B&B is simply the Best and is a small slice of Heaven in historic Oldham County. Their attention to detail and customer service was unmatched and should be the benchmark for all B&B's. The six rooms were each decorated in their own unique theme with excellent beds and bathrooms. The dining room is fantastic, with a large fireplace and intimate seating, facilitating a very cozy ambiance for the guests. The breakfasts prepared by Francesca were as good as any I have had on luxury cruise liners. There is a lot to do in Oldham County and La Grange and if you venture a little farther you can experience Louisville and Lexington and all that they have to offer. The surrounding horse farms were magical with the green pastures, rail fencing, and beautiful horses grazing in the warm sunshine. If the new owners carry on the excellent traditions that Don and Francesca established, they too should enjoy superior reviews from their customers.

I surprised my wife with a trip to the Pillow & Paddock for her birthday. Not knowing what to expect, but based on positive reviews, I finally clued her in as we approached Louisville. Once we arrived, we knew we were in for a special weekend!Francesca and her husband were perfect hosts. Starting from the welcome emails I got, with suggestions for activities while we were there, to follow up emails asking if we had any special requests or needs. We stayed in the Gatsby room, which was elegantly furnished, and very peaceful. Next to our room was the community pantry, stocked with drinks, snacks, games, movies, and books if you desired. There were 3 other couples staying in the Inn while we were there, so we got to know them over the course of our weekend at meals and just relaxing around the house. Each room was tastefully decorated and unique, and the grounds were just lovely. We were treated to a delicious breakfast each morning, complete with coffee and fresh juice. I had responded to Francesca's email about a dietary restriction, and she made sure to supplement my meals so I wouldnt miss anything. I appreciated the extra attention, eve though I did not require anything special. Saturday night, we were lucky enough to enjoy dinner at the Paddock as well. Again, dinner was fantastic, and the company was even better. We really enjoyed laughing around the dinner table, and appreciating the laid back atmosphere that the hosts created. Sunday before we left, we got to spend some time chatting with the Innkeepers about their lives, and I could really see how much they care about each other and their guests. They truly enjoy the business, and meeting new people each week. If we find ourselves in LaGrange, KY again, or find that we could use a weekend away, the Pillow and Paddock will surely be on our short list. Thank you for making my wife's birthday present so much fun!

Simply fabulous! I will not belabor all the things others have already said. I will just say "Amen and Amen!" Cool stuff: An ice making machine, so if you have stuff you have to keep cool in your car cooler... You are in luck at P&P. Keurig machine... I bring my Dunkin K cups for JUST such a place! Amenities? Every amenity you can imagine! Comfort? "Holy crap" level of comfort. Views? Gorgeous rolling hills in every direction. Horses next door! If you think you have seen darkness, drive the streets in LaGrange, KY at night. You ain't seen BLACK if you haven't see it here. So take a walk out in the enormous back yard and look at stars. You didn't know there were this many stars! And for a bite, there is The One Nineteen Restaurant (See my other Yelp review) only two and a half miles away. Our only regret about P&P is that we could only stay one night. Next time we will plan around spending several days here. This place is a destination in and of itself!

Absolutely the best B & B I've ever stayed at. Had a very late arrival and they adjusted their typical schedule to help us out. The facility seemed new (5 years old but looked like they opened last week!) with new fixtures, bedding, amenities, etc. Owner was in the restaurant business, so the breakfasts were awesome. My only recommendation is that if you have dietary restrictions, be sure to mention it when booking. I didn't but they accommodated me on our second day. They are located within a large equestrian real estate development, so the scenery is spectacular.

This was my first stay in a bed and breakfast, and it did not disappoint. LaGrange is a charming little town and only a 20 minute drive from downtown Louisville. Don & Francesca are delightful hosts. A lovely welcome board on the porch greeted us when we arrived, with our names as well as the other weekend guests' names on it. We stayed in the Gatsby, which was a tastefully decorated room in a (obviously) 1920s theme that also included a spacious double shower. Breakfasts were filling and tasty, with special attention given to my gluten free preference. There was also a special snack waiting both evenings at bedtime. In addition to the provided meals, there was a guest pantry upstairs with soda, coffee, books, games and movies to choose from. The hosts had recommendations for activities and also advice for where I could get a good morning run in with minimal traffic to deal with. They have two super sweet mini Schnauzers to love on as well. This place was a Living Social find and I'm so glad I went...it's just too bad this lovely place was the beginning of the end for my ex and me...lol.

So Southern hospitality is not hereditary! Two Southern California transplants have brought incredible warmth to this inviting BnB on the outskirts of LaGrange; an adorable small town that is itself only minutes from the bustle of Louisville. Our family was fortunate to secure the entire BnB for a short reunion and we were treated as royalty the entire weekend. The decor is stunning, yet inviting; we felt comfortable using the rooms. Everyone gravitated to the game room-we had a variety of ages present and Francesca and Don have quite an assortment of both indoor and outdoor games that were appropriate for the 8 to 80 crowd! The fall weather was perfect for some of the group to toss a football in the backyard and enjoy the autumn views.A real gem!

We wanted to get away for a few days from Chattanooga where we live. Had not been to the Louisville area and did not want to go into the city. What a great find the Pillow and Paddock was. Location was quiet, rooms were great and the breakfasts were superb. We also enjoyed a gourmet dinner prepared by Francesca and her faithful waiter (and husband) Don.Pillow and Paddock was very clean and the hosts were more than happy to guide us in things to do during the day. We ended up, at their suggestion, going to Churchill Downs and the museum there. It was the first day of the September race card so we were able to take a tour of the stable area and see the start of the race from the far side where there weren't any people other than the trainers and groomers.Forgot to mention the front porch was great to sit, relax and read. All in all this was a great find and would definitely return.Fred/Jim

We planned an escape for our anniversary, and found the perfect location at the Pillow and Paddock Bed and Breakfast (PPBB). As seasoned travelers, our expectations are high, and the PPBB did not disappoint. Francesca and her husband, Don, made us feel more like personal guests than paying clients! We took advantage of the weekend dinner at the Inn, as well as the complimentary breakfasts. The food was DELICIOUS, and SERVED BEAUTIFULLY ... they attended to every detail. Have to mention their schnauzers, Charlie and Molly, who are adorable. I have a service dog, and they could not have been more accommodating to our need. Although PPBB had a sold out weekend for the fall colors, it was the IDEAL blend of the expected B & B interaction with other guests, while having plenty of privacy and quiet. Finally, PPBB itself is just delightful; PERFECTLY updated and maintained, with ample room and community space ... as well as SPOTLESS CLEAN. We stayed in the Parisienne room, and found it relaxing and fun ... including a stand alone soaking tub. The Inn is located in a great spot to get to Louisville, Lexington or the Bourbon trail (if you can get yourself to leave the wonderful premises). We recommend without hesitation. Marc and Maya W.
