Pet Companions Country Inn

My two German Shepherds are always well cared for when they visit Pet Companions. It's a bit out of the way from where we live, but it's worth the drive to know that my pups are safe and come home happy every time they visit. It's not a large place so it's a hood idea to make reservations as far in advance as you can to be sure they have room. Pick up times are convenient and the rates are very reasonable.

We live in Wisconsin, but I was raised in Wilmore, so when it came time to go home for Christmas we loaded up our pooch (who we got from the Lexington Humane Society in August) and drove to my old Kentucky home. Mom's house isn't the best for dogs (an allergic niece and frequent large groups of people), so we still needed to kennel our former puppy mill mama, but it was nice to know that she was close by - plus she enjoys the ride. I truly wish Pet Companions Country Inn had a branch in the Milwaukee area - but somehow they would need to clone the people who run it too. They took fabulous care of our lovely lab, and gave us the most informative and helpful oral report on her behaviors that we have gotten from anywhere - including the Humane Society. We will be back for sure!

My Aussie loved her stay here! She came home happy and tired and I knew she was in good hands. We have already booked our next stay with Christine and Pet Companions Country Inn.

Wouldn't dream of taking my dog anywhere else. They aren't great for organizing so don't leave your dog with anything they can't lose. Other than that, they take good care of my pet.

Christine Martin is an absolute gem, and has created such a safe, loving, and reassuring environment where we can leave our pup, who is basically our daughter since we do not have children. We have boarded Pokey at Pet Companions Country Inn many times now, for up to a full week at a time, and she has always come home happy, healthy, clean, and well nourished. I can see why she has so many loyal clients, many whom appear to have been bringing their animals to her for well over a decade.Our pup gets many hours of play time each day, as well as her own space and time to rest and retreat to regularly. Christine is such an intuitive person; she appears to own many different types of animals of her own and she can observe and sense which dogs will have good chemistry together in play groups, as well as individual dogs' needs and 'personalities'.The property where the kennel is located is serene and beautiful. I love that it is next to owners' residence, so that somebody is on premises around the clock. The kennels are spacious and safe, with indoor and outdoor runs that Christine and her staff thoughtfully manage. The pickup/dropoff hours are absolutely worth managing your own trip schedules around. Other pet boarding places might have superficial bells and whistles that take resources and focus away from what really matters: a safe second home for your pup. I would not think of boarding my dog anywhere else. Thank you to Christine and your wonderful staff for everything.

We have two very active young dogs and finding and a kennel we could be confident in was a priority. We found that kennel at Pet Companions. Christine and her staff are wonderful. They take great care of our pups giving us the comfort of knowing our guys are in good hands. Our dogs enthusiasm when arriving there to be dropped off is a testament of how they enjoy it. We highly recommend Pet Companions Country Inn.

The owner is great and has taken good care of our two dogs. We have used them on several occasions and trust our pups are in good hands.

I wasn't super pleased with it. The staff were nice and seemed very friendly with the dogs, but I'm not sure how much they were paying attention or communicating with each other. They seem to genuinely care about the pets, but my dogs' food was mishandled and one dog ended up injured. She had blood caked on her fur and her harness was twisted around her leg. When I asked them about these, they claimed to not notice and only gave me excuses. I ended up taking her to the vet.They did offer to refund me money to help pay for the vet bill and seemed genuinely concerned about her injuries, but I will never use them again.
