Love Peggy's for finding gifts for anyone & everyone! This local to Lexington shop has been a staple on Clay Ave for as long as I can remember. Though the shop is small, it is packed with a variety of cute items that make perfect gifts. Peggy's gift wrapping is Lexington-famous as well- you know if you get a gift with a pretty bow and gold sticker you're getting something good!

Over the weekend I visited the local gift shop on Clay avenue, Peggys! You feel joy right when you walk in there have Christmas decorations all around and sweet staff to greet you! I was in search of getting a hand painted Christmas ornament for my nephews first Christmas! Sadly I didn't take a picture of it before it was wrapped but I've included a photo of their amazing wrapping skills. They wrap everything free of charge and I was in and out very quickly! Shop small this holiday season!!

This place is one of Lexington's hidden gems. I discovered it on Instagram and decided to check it out in person. It's located on clay Avenue, near several other local boutique like stores. You can literally make a day long shopping trip out of it, which is basically what I did that day. I have a teenage daughter and a lot of thing appealed to her. It's a place that I could complete a lot of her Christmas list. This time, she was with me and was like a kid in a candy store. Apparently Simply Southern shirts are a hot commodity fad and they had a selection of T-shirts. They were out of long sleeved T-shirts, so my daughter asked if they ever get any in and the friendly lady at the front offered to take down her name and number and call her when the next shipment arrived. Low and behold, a few days later, she received a call. They also sell Pandora, Lilly Pulitzer, Bourbon and Bow Tie bracelets and a ton of other brands and things that are hard to find at other places. If you're looking for monogrammed gifts, this is your place too. They sell a lot of monogrammed things.If you love to shop local or you're looking for something out of the ordinary, I highly recommend this place. They're only open until 5:30 though, so do keep that in mind if you're planning to make your way over. The only gripe that I have is that there was an offer mentioned on their Instagram posting, something like "come visit us today for your chance to win a $50 gift certificate". When I got home, I remembered that posting too late, no one mentioned it to me or gave me a raffle ticket of sort. I spent about $50 there that day, so their marketing approach paid off and they gained a new customer. I probably wouldn't have won the raffle anyway... not a huge deal, just my only gripe.

I travel frequently to Lexington on business and only recently discovered Peggy's when I needed to pick up some Christmas gifts. I was quite delighted by the thoughtful and tasteful selection of gifts and home decor. The store appears to be a renovated house. There are two levels of merchandise grouped in different rooms on each level. I was attracted to so many of the items I found in the store, I immediately wished I had more space in my luggage. Along with the exceptional selection of merchandise, you will find one of the most helpful and friendly sales staffs I have ever encountered. Because I was leaving town the next day, the owner monogrammed my item in the store that day. Each gift was beautifully wrapped and packaged carefully for me to pack in my luggage. My gifts were a huge hit.On a recent trip I went back for another monogrammed gift, again being short of time. I offered to pick it up in two weeks but lovely Peggy offered to deliver it the next day to my place of business which she did with a lovely hand-written note. I am now a customer for life. Excellent service and selection. Thanks again.

Great products, overpriced however. I can deal with slight price gouging but what I cannot tolerate is rude staff. I have NEVER been treated so rudely or with such indifference. The entire staff was apathetic and snarky when asked a simple question - as if I was greatly disturbing them. Although I love their merchandise, I will not patronize with a staff as snobby as theirs. AVOID!!!!

I have always enjoyed going to Peggy's for great personalized gifts. I have bought several wedding gifts from there for friends and they have always been the talk of the wedding shower. She also carries extremely cute sorority items. Everything is always in stock and one of the best parts is that they offer to wrap your gifts for you which I appreciate since I am a terrible wrapped myself. I do wish they were open a bit later even if it was just a few days a week, I work in Frankfort and cannot always get to Lexington before they close but that would be my only complaint really.
