We were looking for a place to stay near Mammoth Cave National Park and ran across this place online. We had an odd experience because they were filming a movie on site that prevented us from seeing much of the public areas. The movie was a religious film that required burning a cross the night we stayed (yes...I'm being for real and not exaggerating). Also, the movie crew was kinda noisy. The place is extremely dated. It has obviously not been updated since the 70's. That said, it was clean and well maintained considering. My only real complaint about the room is that the air conditioner was not big enough to keep the room cool. If you like rustic and inexpensive, then this is the place for you.

Stayed there as a kid in the mid-70's and the place literally hasn't changed! Well, the pool is closed and the mini golf is gone. Tennis court should be fixed or removed. The planters didn't have flowers but the weeds were lovely. Seriously, inside was clean, staff was nice, a small bar with wine tasting was neat and clean looking. The rooms need a little updating. The windows and sills need to be cleaned. The small AC was at capacity to partially cool room. It was hot so not knocking it, it just isn't big enough. The room was large with big windows. They need curtains because the blinds won't fully block out the rising sun! I can't sleep late in a bright room. The furniture, probably original to the room, was clean and adequate. The mattress was ok, bedding was ok, too. I'd prefer some better pillows and something thicker than flat! The room was super clean except behind the table, which I wouldn't seen if I hadn't dropped something. The resort is very dated but charming. I'd prefer it as is and charming but with some modern day amenities. They should also spend a little to make it look nice out front! Kill the weeds and plant some flowers. It shows this place is for guys but hey, girls wanna have fun, too...in a nice place! Make it look good for them! Overall, I'd return.

This place has midcentury charm in a beautiful setting. It's clean and simple and a great place to stay for exploring the National Park. It has a shooting range, which is 100% not my thing, but it doesn't bother - you will hear gunshots during the day but not at night. The breakfast (think eggs bacon coffee biscuit) is serviceable, the winery is a nice place to hang after a day on the river (and they do have dry wines, unlike many rural American wineries), and dinner was not good but I'm not sure there are any better places so you might as well have an extra glass of wine and eat here.

This is not good... the rooms are outdated and expensive u can only bring pets in pet friendly rooms (but the fee is 50.00 and if ur not in a pet friendly room with a pet the fee is 250.00!!) There are almost NO activities AT ALL! the rooms are dirty and there are weeds everywhere one of the staff even said "the pool has not been open in 10 years" and they charged us extra for using the TOILET even though the toilet paper felt like SAND paper they also charged us for SITTING ON THE BED!! the beds are VERY uncomfortable 0 stars if i could would NOT recommend we did not even stay ONE NIGHT and they charged us :((((

Ok the place is dated but I think that is the charm. I haven't been there in years last time was 15 yrs ago before that I was still a kid. Kinda feels like going to a summer cabin. They have recently opened a little wine bar in the lobby (beer too) which is very quaint. Staff was super nice the food, well not the greatest but it was adequate. They have a golf course and a bunch of shooting ranges. The use to have a pool but no longer so leave trunks at home. There is also bike trails. Oh and we watched a band play from our balcony in the parking lot..simply delightful.

Okay. So we planned a little overnight stay to the Mammoth Cave area. I had stayed at this resort when I was young so I thought we would take our daughter because I do have fond memories there. I called around 11 on Sunday(which says closed on the yelp app but not on any other website.) and spoke to a lady. I asked if we could drive down today for one night and she said YES!!! So we gather our things for the drive and head that way. We arrive at the hotel around 2. A lady was sitting behind the desk. And I told her I was there to check in. She said oh we are closed for the day!!!! I was confused because well I called 3 hours earlier? She said yeah our General Manager is gone for the day. I said I called and gave me info. She then asked if gave any credit card information, which I hadn't because nobody asked for it! What a joke of a hotel and management. They told me they called to tell me they were closed? Well I was driving towards the hotel and did not have my phone on me. What would've resolved the issue was letting us stay the night and I would've payed in the morning...when they were open? If you aren't open then why was someone working? I won't be back.

Planned on staying here while visiting family and on vacation in the area. Staff is super friendly and they allow pets, which is one of the reasons we stayed here. Property is in SERIOUS need of updating though. No wifi and very few amenities--not even a coffee maker in the room. Coffee was available in the lobby but with so few guests was no where near fresh (have no doubt they would make more if asked). Would be a nice romantic getaway or a good place to retreat and write a novel, but when travelling with two kids and a dog the lack of amenities is a killer. Extra star for cleanliness, good shower, and friendly staff and would recommend for couples that want to use golf course or other activities but don't bring young kids here (mine are 7 and 4)... EDIT: Found out that the wifi was just out and bring repaired during our stay.

This is a wonderful location with fantastic views. The staff could not be friendlier if you were a long lost family member. One that the actually liked. Everyone in town talked about the resorts food. Not sure what they tried but that wasn't my experience. Think old folks home type of food. The facility is in serious need of updating. Think 1967. The property and staff make the resort. Lots of things to do...golf, shooting, etc. If the owners ever update this property they will have a world class destination for the Midwest. But as it stands now it's not ready for prime time. I would pass on the hotel and food but drive up for the golf and shooting ranges.

Even though the places broken down Knox Academy, some restoration make a stissy's. A beauty in what's left behind someone with a good mind and a good heart could bring that place back battle. Battle the battles on the longer state without giving it. I need love the heavy and the strong of the battle to get it back up. But a text one in the battle to fight. Restore what people don't see that could be restored. Fix the unflixable, create exotic different in love. I'm bored.
