Love it here.Food is great, cheap, staff is very friendly. It gives a loud, party vibe. The outside has a great area to chill. Lots of birthdays and other events going on. Very good time.Drinks were huge and cheap, loved what we got. Also: Fiance knows the owners, who are very kind people!

Went to Papi's with a group of then. It wasn't my choice. We sat in the indoor patio, thank goodness.. It was National Margarita Day, so you can imagine how packed it was, and the service showed it. They were premixed (I asked) so did not have one. The food was not good, and looking around at the other plates (I'm a visual person relative to food.), it appeared to be just thrown on the plates in one hot mess. Not a place I d return to, ever.32

What a fun location and close to a VRBO we were staying at. Loved the food and servers were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Server suggested Carnitas which I never would have ordered and it was delicious. Horchata was great too. Great play area outside with bags.

With a wonderful patio, vibrant interior, and welcoming and capable staff, Papi's in Palomar was an enjoyable lunch stop. I ordered cheese enchiladas with rice and beans and my husband got asada and chorizo street tacos with the bean soup. The provided salsa was a non-spicy, but good salsa, and the chips were a thickness that could have stood up to a hearty pico de gallo, but not overly think. A great chip. The tacos were good, my husband said the chorizo wasn't very spicy. He enjoyed the corn tortillas as they had good flavor and didn't fall apart. He scraped the bowl on his bean soup. The rice and beans were middle of the road. Okay, not bad. The enchilada was filled with colby jack cheese, I believe. I am not a fan of that type of cheese in my enchiladas, but it was a tasty dish. Our total, including one soda and a water, was $38.94 before tip. All in all, we will recommend Papi's as an easy meal out in a convenient location. Plenty of choices on the menu. We would go back again.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Lexington! Ask for Salima!! She's my favorite server. She's extremely attentive and gets every detail right every time! The food is always delicious and the margaritas are fabulous (the don't skimp on the tequila). There is great outdoor seating with cornhole for the kids on nice days too. This restaurant is in constant rotation for me!!!

My husband and I decided to give this place a try because we were on this side of town. It was so busy we sat at the bar but the service was amazing and we even had the owner taking our order. It's a little loud in here but I gave 5 stars on the mole all on its own. My husband had the beef chimichanga but no picture happened since all thoughts left my brain after trying that mole. The owner said his mother makes it for him and it's the best I've ever had. It was the perfect balance of sweet and savory with a hint of spice. I also happily downed my surprisingly strong margarita!

We recently went to Poppy's Mexican Restaurant hoping to enjoy some margaritas and dinner, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. We started with a pitcher of margaritas, but it came out incredibly bitter, sour, and just plain undrinkable. We let our server know, and he was very understanding and kindly offered to take it back, suggesting we try a skinny margarita instead. He even brought just one glass for us to sample first. Unfortunately, that margarita was also unpleasant and didn't taste any better. Then, a woman who seemed to be a manager or bartender came over and insisted we had to pay for the skinny margarita we didn't even drink. At this point, we asked for a sample of a frozen strawberry margarita, which we actually enjoyed. But when we ordered three glasses of it, they came out as pure liquid, not frozen at all.The silver lining was our server, who was absolutely amazing. He took great care of us, got the skinny margaritas removed from the bill, and made sure we only paid for the drinks we actually liked. Kudos to him for his excellent service, but the management's attitude and the quality of the drinks left a lot to be desired.

I'm here at least once every couple of weeks and the food is usually top tier. Today though our queso was extremely thin. They added so much milk to the queso that it wouldn't even stay on the chip. The queso here is usually thick and delicious. When we asked the waiter about why it was so thin, he assured us that it was fresh, which was not the concern. We know it's fresh but they just added a bunch of milk to make the queso go further. It seems cheap and the waiter was not helpful in making the experience better than when we voiced our concerns. Also had to wait forever and a day for more chips. Taking my business to hacienda in Brannon crossing next time... queso and food is ALWAYS good there.

I love this place, my go to Mexican restaurant. They are so quick with your food. I witnessed a really cool birthday celebration, the whole staff will sing happy birthday. Also, after they will put a video on the screen that the owner films.
