This was our second visit and I must say they are consistent. I look for four things when I eat Mexican food, good service, good food, great Salsa and excellent MARGARITAS. This place got 3 out of the 4 right. This is a really solid Mexican food place, with one exception. The food is great, the service was attentive and friendly, the salsa both mild and hot were amazing and as a bonus they make their guacamole dip fresh to order. The guacamole is huge, when I say huge I mean huge. My biggest complaint is the margaritas, we always order at least 1 pitcher of gold/top shelf margaritas where ever we go. I'm not bragging it's just our preference. With that being said the margaritas have lacked flavor and alcohol on both visits. They were so bad we didn't even finish the last 1/3 of the pitcher we ordered. Good margaritas and good food means good times. Good food and terrible margaritas equals a quick meal. I'm not sure if a third try is warranted, but I will consider it and just skip the lack luster margaritas. They are crushing the food, service and salsa categories. They are very reasonably priced and considerably cheaper than other Mexican places. Cheap prices sometimes means below average food. That's not the case here, the food is excellent. It also has a good menu selection. If they fix the margarita's bland flavor and lack of alcohol. This place would be a ten out of a ten.

We are usual customers here. We live 4 minutes away so it's very close to the house. I speak Spanish so it's always nice having the chance to speak the language. They always nice to us and do a great job with preparing our food. We eat there all the time and try to order something different each time and never disappoint. The food is delicious all the time! I'm picking when it comes to Mexican food and this is a great Mexican restaurant and I highly recommend!!

Highly recommend the top shelf Margarita pitcher. Wait staff friendly and efficient. Lively on a Friday night. Great prices.

Ole Frijole is a Mexican establishment located jitsu off Bardstown road in the fern creek neighborhood of Louisville. After passing this establishment up probably over a 100 times in the past me and the family finally stopped in here for a lunch this past Sunday. Very large establishment that is very spacious and has tall ceilings s with very lovely and cool decor. They even have a guacamole bar. So pretty cool and nice vibe here. Like most traditional Mexican places they have complimentary chips and salsa. Which is always a plus. The salsa was pretty good. Chips were pretty strong corn tortilla which isn't my favorite. But still pretty good. For out entree I personally got what they call a Choriyoyo. Which is shopped grilled chicken, Mexican rice, charizo and queso. It was pretty good. The chorizo gave it solid kick. Chicken had good flavor. Could of used a bit more queso or cheese sauce. Good portion size though. My two middle girls got kids meal. One got a grilled chickens and the other chicken nuggets. Neither said much but they both munched down most of it so must of not been too bad. My wife and oldest got burritos. The wife got a burrito California and she said it was really good. Set off her pregnancy heart burn but she was a big fan. My oldest got a Ole Frijole Burrito. She Kinda mutilated it and left about half it for to go. But she said she liked it and she just wasn't very hungry from a late breakfast. Service started off rocky and slow but it bounced back once we placed our order they had the food out super quick. Overall was a nice place and a solid experience. Food was pretty good. It won't be my favorite Mexican place town at but it would suffice if someone asked me if we wanted to come back. So if he open to coming back.

Best Mexican in Louisville in our opinion. Best margs and guac. Family run and they are all so friendly.

Excellent service and prices. Guac was great and I enjoyed the veggie fajitas. Will be back soon.

First time at this restaurant. The food was really good and prices are very reasonable. It is a family atmosphere with many large tables. The waiter was helpful and met our needs.We will be back.

Really great food, even better prices. Also the guacamole bar is amazing. The michalada is amazing too.
