I'm almost hesitant to review this place as it's a totally local old guys drinking on a Saturday afternoon place. Rolled in with the older daughter and spent a couple of hours catching up. I bought a round for the three gentlemen watching the olympics plus our drinks for a whopping total of $16. Great little place for a beer and conversation. The kind of place where you can hear one another and chill.

Small pit stop during my evening of bar hopping. Old Hickory Inn is definitely a dive bar ... but when I think of a dive bar I picture dark wood and lighting. This spot has more of a diner feel with its white tile, old school table and chairs and bright lights. It's like a diner wIth a bar and pool table. Our bartender was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Cheap drinks, fast service. They hold your credit card if you leave your tab open, tip needs to be added before you run it so don't forget to take care of the people that took care of you. Some TVs to watch a game and I appreciated it was the quieter bar of the night. I'd grown tired of yelling my conversation.

Eh.It is fine and if you want cheap beer, you can find it here.I generally end up stopping in during the Germantown/Schnitzelburg neighborhood street festivals (Walk & Rock....Blues Festival...Dainty...what have you...). The patrons tend to be more numerous and diverse during those times. Most recently, I stopped in with folks mid-run to warm up and have a beverage. Despite the stickers and signs on the door, though, they DO NOT accept American Express credit cards. So, many thanks to a friend for getting my cheap-o beer since I only had one card with me and no cash.It is nothing fancy. There aren't tons of options. If there is a game happening, it will probably be on.Have tempered expectations and you'll have a decent enough time.

I come to this bar almost every day I'm in town. I have never seen the trash problem. The "pissing in the alley" problem, as far as I can tell, happens near bars AROUND THE WORLD. My advice? Check it out. The people are generally very awesome and welcoming. My other advice? If you're gonna be an asshole about the occasional beer bottle and people pissing in an alley, DON'T RENT A PLACE NEXT TO A BAR.

I was in town and wanted to find a local bar for a couple of beers. I found this Old Hickory Inn, but was hesitant after seeing the pictures and a couple of the reviews. I went in on a late Tuesday afternoon, and it was a very good dive bar. Seemed to be lots of local coming in to play Wii bowling, all seemed very friendly. I can't complain, it was exactly as I would have hoped and I'm glad I gave it a chance.

A pretty basic and straight forward bar, not a huge selection but you're sure to find something. Like many bars, there is a minimum card amount if you are paying with a card and there are some limits to which cards they take, which can be an inconvenience.

On Saturday evening we were exploring the bars and restaurants in Germantown. We happened upon The Old Hickory Inn and thought we would have a drink and move on. We stayed a couple of hours. The drinks were cheap and very good. The patrons were very welcoming and the bartender, Leslie, was attentive and friendly. All in all a very enjoyable evening. We will definitely be back.

They let their bar guests pee in my alley. Their bar tenders claim to know the people who pee on my car daily, but won't do anything about it. I know I live near a bar, but that doesn't mean I deserve to deal with drunk patrons trespassing and peeing on my property. Their patrons are clearly trashy. I will not go here ever, no matter the convenience of being a few doors down. Their trash spills out into the alley so that I either have to clean up the beer bottles myself, or my tires are slashed by glass. Don't support this establishment that dumps on the neighborhood. They are literally bad for the entire neighborhood. If you are considering renting the property available next door, I'd reconsider. The patrons constantly peek over the fence and make comments. They are loud. They get drunk and scream at us. Don't rent it.

New to the city, new to the neighborhood and looking for a place to watch sports. So many bars in Germantown have no tvs or if they do have tvs, they do not show sports. OHI shows sports, so that makes me happy. Also the bartenders are very nice. So I endorse this place.
