This place was the only place left when we booked for the Kentucky Bourbon festival. We were a bit worried but when we got there, it was not so bad. The guy at the front counter ( the owner I believe) was very nice once he started talking to you. I wasn't expecting coffee/pastries/bananas in the lobby so that was a nice surprise. The bed was comfortable and the AC blasted all day/night. No issues with that. The toilets / shower/ sink are very very old school and basic. We will stay here again.

Never again would I stay in the dump. I am amazed that they don't rent their rooms by the hour. I am not sure where they took their photos, but let me tell you what was actually there. They bed was a crunchy raft of discomfort with a waterproof cover. The breakfast was bananas, Walmart OJ and Milk, some yogurt, Svenhard's danishes, white bread, Walmart bagels and two kinds of cereal with regular coffee. The bathroom sink is in your room. The hotel still uses keys. I didn't even bother with the internet. "Extra" towels so all 4 of the people in a 4 person room could take a shower was a big put out. Never, never again.

I really enjoyed this Inn. The check-in was so easy (took less than 2 minutes). Our room was on the first floor, very convenient to our car. I was worried it would be noisy, since there was a large wedding party there, but we slept great!I really enjoyed the added bonus of a pool - it was so nice to relax there after a long day of taste-testing bourbon. Very close to "downtown" Bardstown and less than a mile away from HeavenHill distilleries.I also loved the added touch of jade shampoo & soap, made in India. It smelled great and was a step up from the usual. They provide a small continental breakfast which is nice.In the summer, they don't provide blankets, just the sheets and a decorative quilt. Some people may want more, so the front desk can get you a blanket in no time.Last note: The mattresses are protected with a plastic coating. I like this because it means the place is cleaner and no bed bugs, but it can make the rustling plastic sound. It did not bother me, but perhaps Old Bardstown Inn - you can maybe add an additional layer?Loved this little Inn for the price, location, and service!

Would give this place 2.5 stars if possible. The bad:- room floors were quite dirty(my socks were visibly dirty after walking around)- beds were pretty rough. Super firm and made my back hurt.- no comforter on the beds, just a very thin sheet that felt like plastic- no full sized pillows. Each bed had 4 small, square throw pillows- it was hot during our stay so we wanted the AC left on but when our room was made up housekeeping turned it off so we came back to a hot, stuffy roomThe good:- the man at the front desk who I assume was the owner was very nice. Had a good conversation with him during breakfast- it's in a good location- the room was quiet - it was clean other than the floor All in all it was decent. If the owner got proper comforters and pillows I'd add a star. If he did that and cleaned the floors id add 1.5 stars.

This is our fav place to stay when in Bardstown. Not only does it have a great little pool -although the hours could be better-it has laundry and food near by, even just across the street! Located close to many tourist attractions and across from a golf course, it is a great location for much to do! Boone's Meat Market is also a near-by find, packed with great food options (most require a kitchen but there are lots of packaged meats and cheeses to choose from as well). The motel proprietor is accommodating and friendly. Depending on your time of visit it can be a very relaxing, quaint and quiet place to rest and enjoy all Bardstown and its area has to offer. Only a home purchase will keep us from this wonderful little motel.

4 stars for the great price and location plus 2 stars for the room quality averages out to 3 stars. My wife and I spent two nights at the Old Bardstown Inn, which offers motel style lodging. There aren't many places to choose from in Bardstown so we selected this motel due to its good location close to the attractions and the bourbon distilleries in the area. Our room had two queen sized beds, one bedside table, a table with two chairs by the window, a microwave, a nice sized refrigerator, a small coffee maker, and a motel style heating and AC unit that was conveniently operated by a remote control. The vanity and sink were located outside the toilet/shower room. There was no hair dryer provided. I was pleasantly surprised at the modern flat screen TV with a lot of cable channels. We were very pleased that we were able to watch our out of town NHL game.Overall, the room was better than I expected. The cleanliness and quality of the sheets could have been a little better, but are you really allowed to complain much when you are paying less than $50 per night? The bed was OK and we slept fine, but it was kind of funny how much you could feel the coils in it. Parking was good, we were able to park right outside our room. The staff was very friendly and organized. Don't worry if you get up too late and miss the complimentary breakfast. It's nothing special, just generic toaster waffles, artificial maple syrup, weak coffee and bagels. There are really good breakfast options including both fast food and sit down places just down the road, so no big deal.

Check in was nice, woman was lovely. the room was very clean and had obviously been recently renovated. My only gripes are that it was cold (32 degrees outside) , and I could not find a thermostat, vents, etc - I don't think they have heat there. The beds just have a sheet and this weird, thin almost plastic like bead spread type of thing on them. I did find a blanket in a drawer, but it was a bit crusty and had a lipstick stain. Checkout is 11 am. The phone rang at 9 am, but I did not answer, because wtf?! It rang again promptly at 11 a.m.. I answered it, and all I heard was no greeting, but a very confrontational "DO YOU WANT TO STAY ANOTHER NIGHT?" uuugggh, jeez, I'd already pegged one of their guests as a serial sniper, so no.....I mean, the place was fine, just go in warm weather and don't feel relaxed in the morning. And The guy who called me that morning, (I am assuming is the owner) is a complete jackass and could have handled that with a bit more tact..

I stayed at the Old Bardstown Inn for 3 nights in mid December. The Inn is located directly across the street from "The Old Kentucky Home." One can easily walk into Bardstown for dining and drinks. I estimate the distance to town central to be approximately one mile; maybe a little less. There is also "fine" dining at a locally famous restaurant that located less than 1/4 mile from the Inn. The Indian gentlemen who owns/runs the place was great to work with and a very interesting person to talk to. The owner has been gradually remodeling and updating the rooms. The room in which I stayed was very clean and had nearly new, high grade carpeting, fresh paint and a new remote controlled air-conditioner. I highly recommend the Old Bardstown Inn and plan to stay there again when I go back for another Bourbon Trail adventure this fall.

Recently re-done rooms in Spring 2018. New firm beds, fresh paint, new bedding, clean. Great laminate flooring. The lady working the night/morning shift was gracious and accommodating! Great value for what it is!
