Use to be a really nice park with big spacious areas good sized playground and basketball court. A lot of the same stuff remains but it just so ran down and not taken care of. So many "bad" people go there to do or sell drugs. It like anytime of day you can pull in either parking lot and see something shady happen. Sad to see that happen to what use to be a great park.

Okolona Park seems to be a hole in the wall; All my life driving through this area I have never noticed this place until a friend introduced me to it. It is located behind an elementary school and a neighborhood, so it is not easy to find on your own. It's not much, but it's enough. They have a little circular track for running, a big open field for whatever activities, a gazebo, and a cute little playground for kids. I do prefer bigger areas for my exercise, but this park can do the trick if need be.

I grew up in Okolona. I've always enjoyed going back and seeing the old neighborhoods the old restaurants and Okolona Park. I'm giving this place at 3 because of what it used to be to me. Unfortunately Okolona is not the same place that it once was and the park is also a reflection of the changing community in the changing culture of Okolona. This place used to be a lot of fun for me I remember being 5 years old and swinging on those swings and playing on all the slides and going to Okolona Elementary and was taking little field trips to the park. Those days are done unfortunately place now is kind of run-down they got it drug deals going on a lot there and just a lot of sketchy people unfortunately. So if the community didn't change I would give it a 5 because of all the Nostalgia and fun I had their growing up however the place is definitely different and it's just not the part that I grew up with walking and playing basketball and having fun with my friends so I'm going to give this place of three I don't ever plan on returning unfortunately just because of what the park has become and that makes me sad because I have two little kids and I enjoyed taking them to the park it just won't be Okolona Park

Park is a dump. Looks like someone drove through the park and then got stuck. Then tore the park all up getting out. The playground has NO drainage. Instead of come in and fix the park they dumped tons of mulch. It's a swampy mess for mosquitoes. The grass hasn't been cut in forever. Spent all that money to put in special swings and you can't even use them.

Okolona Park was never the best park around, but I live so close to it that was the most convenient. Located directly behind Okolona Elementary, the park doesn't have much to offer other than a shaded gazebo, several benches, and a concrete track. There is a basketball and tennis court, but it's usually always already occupied, and also a playground area for children. The park itself is fairly sketchy. The gazebo area seems to be the hangout spot for smoking (cigarettes and...other things), and you can smell it when you walk/run by it. The playground is so small it's almost funny, but I guess the kids don't mind it.The concrete track has become cracked and unlevel over the years of use, so you definitely have to watch your step in a few places. Other than that, it's not bad if you're in the area and need somewhere to walk or run some laps. Three laps equal a mile, but the laps seem to take forever to get through because you're just looking at he same things over and over again.Anyway, it's not the best, and it's not too high on my list. But since I do live so close, it's convenient on hot days to go to since it's pretty well shaded due to all the trees.
