A wonderful venue in which to enjoy a music concert, which is the reason for this visit. Acoustics are effective in enabling enjoyment of the performance. Ample bathrooms meant no long waits. Parking is available and close by. Tiered seating is comfortable. I will come again to attend additional performances here.

What a fantastic venue to have in Danville. The world-class performances they schedule here each year are phenomenal for a small town (Dolly Parton and ZZ Top, the musicals Cats and Chicago, to name a few). They also have exhibitions on display throughout the year that anybody can walk in and view for free throughout the week. And though I wasn't here then, it's also a cool and fun fact that they've hosted two different vice presidential debates in the past. Looking forward to attending some performances there this year.

With it's upper seating and seven rows of floor seats, 1500 seats makes any musical performance here even more intimate than it sounds. Last night was my first time here. As a birthday gift (best one ever) I was gifted Dolly Parton tickets to the show last night. The tickets were pricey, but keep in mind that it was more of a personal concert than a huge arena experience. With the smallness also comes the awesome acoustics. Not to mention that even the seats in the upper area are pretty good. Our tickets were at will call and the attendants were super nice and efficient. As we waited in line, an attendant asked several of our names and came back out and handed us our tickets. Way to work the line! There were also several people guiding us to whichever side of the center that our seats were closest to. The entire seating process went smoother than any big arena experience that I've ever had. Impressive!

Great place for concerts. With only 1500 seats, the place is very intimate. Good view no matter where you are sitting. Saw the Blue Man Group here, great show.

American pop icon Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons were fabulous in their 100 minutes set of nostalgic renditions of 50 years of rock and roll last night. From doo-wop, Sherry, Big Girls Don't Cry, Walk Like a Man, Candy Girl, Rag Doll, Can't Take My Eyes Off of You, to the more recent Oh What a Night, Our Day Will Come, and the Grease soundtrack, the 15 member all male band and four person backups - The Four Season - rocked the house. The Norton Center, as a venue, provides the opportunity for each patron to be a part of the intimate setting. The valet parking needs a huge improvement to get the excited and appreciative audience home after the show. Other artists on this year's Norton Center agenda include: Tony Bennett, The Punch Brothers, Smokey Robinson, The Tokyo String Quartet and Al Green. I would certainly return and make the 50 minute drive from Berea College to Danville depending on my own travel and conferencing schedule.

I attended a concert at the Norton Center last night. I've been to concerts in large & small venues all over the Lexington/Louisville/Cincinnati area so I had a pretty good idea of what to expect. Unfortunately, I was badly mistaken. For starters, there are no parking structures or anything similar anywhere for this venue. There are no directions for parking lots in the area. And pretty much any that you find on your own are marked "private parking - violators will be towed." Isn't that lovely? After circling the area for more than 20 minutes, we finally found a lot that said "private parking" for a business but the business was closed. We, and others, decided to just take the chance & park there. It was at least a 3 or 4 block walk back to the Norton Center at that point. And this was close to an hour before the show was even scheduled to begin. We hung around outside & met up with friends & about 30 minutes beforehand, we tried to get inside & they had Irish cloggers performing literally less than 10' in front of the door. You couldn't get in. You couldn't move. And people were piling up trying to get in behind you so you couldn't back out either. Not a good situation. That finally ended & we were able to get inside & go find our seats. They were reasonably comfortable although access was very strange. There were no center rows to be found so any one who wasn't at the very ends had to crawl across everyone else in the row to get to their seat. We're talking probably 75-100 seats in a row with no center aisle. AWKWARD!!!! The show began & the acoustics were, as mentioned in other reviews, top notch. No complaints there at all. And in regards to the view, there wouldn't have been a bad seat in the entire facility. But as the show went on, it started getting stuffy. Then uncomfortably warm. And it didn't get any better. It just got worse, to the point where it wasn't just warm, it was HOT in there! This was a high class act with people dressed accordingly but folks, by intermission, you could SMELL the SWEAT!!!! We crawled out the row just to get out to the entryway to try to get some fresh air.... Second half was no better, the temperature just climbed & climbed until your clothes were sticking to you, you KNEW you could smell your neighbors & just prayed they weren't smelling YOU! It was a stampede when the show wsa over with people trying to get outside & into the fresh (and COLD) air! I wish I could say this was an isolated event but in talking to friends in the area, they all stated that the ventilation there has been horrific since it was built. All I know is that if it's that MISERABLE at this time of year, I'd hate to see what it's like in summer. And it was miserable enough that I won't be going back again. At any time of year. No matter who is performing!!!
