Friendly staff, good selection of equipment (freeweights in particular; machines, somewhat less so.) They offer a day pass which, as an occasional visitor, I deeply appreciate.

I like this YMCA. It doesn't have as much to offer as it's not as big as the other YMCAs in town but it's because it's smaller. They still have a fitness room, classes, an indoor pool, wellness center, child watch etc. not a fan of the location as it's right across the street from the homeless men's shelter. Over all though, most of the staff and friendly and helpful and I get everything done that I need done at a gym.

I've been coming to the North Side YMCA for a few years now. Overall been happy. Large gym with equipment in great shape. They have everything from machines to free weights to use along with a bunch of treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and such. I usually come in the mornings around 7am and sometimes later in the evening around 8pm. These aren't really peak hours but I've never had a problem in getting to use any of the equipment which was my main complaint of some of the other gyms in Lexington. The locker rooms are large and very clean. The pool is fantastic and usually there are 3-4 lap lanes open and a free swim area. The gymnasium for basketball is very nice. There is outdoor areas but I've never really checked them out along with the kids area so can't comment on those. It's a bit more expensive than some of the other places in town but my employer gives me a $10 off monthly discount so to me worth it.The staff is great and friendly. They have trainers but I've never used their service. Best of all normal people come here to work out and I have never felt any pressure.

I went in and asked if they had a day pass and they gave me the price of $24 per person, then they changed the price and said it was actually $25. And then some lady came in and made a stereotype and assumed I didn't speak or understand English and said the price was $26.50 per person for a 24-hour pass. Ridiculous. The pass only included the gym and the basketball court. This is outrages, I personally feel like they were trying to steal from me. I will absolutely not be returning to this place.

If you need to cancel your membership A TELEPHONE CALL WILL NOT SUFFICE. Did you sign up over the phone? Go in person.

Security issues; employees let in friends that are not paying members.Across the street from the Hope Center. Street people easily walk by the desk without being detected by distracted employees. In the local YMCA system this is a loss leader compared to the other Y's. You'll see why if you go there.

Rather disappointed by the size of the gym at the North end YMCA, although they said they are starting a major renovation. With membership 6 personal training session are included, however there always seems to be scheduling issue when I try to have one of my sessions. If it wasn't for the kids programs, would be returning to Planet Fitness or another nearby gym. YMCA of Louisville (or whatever they call themselves) is much better than YMCA of Central Kentucky.

My mother has called for 3 months straight to cancel her membership and for the 3 months they have continued to take $46 dollars each month. She has called and sent emails and NOBODY has returned her call. She is calling her bank and taking action against them. It's sad they treat disabled members who join to try and get somewhat better this way. She lives on a very stric budget and quit because they told her it would only be $24 a month and have been charging her dang near double that. So I would honestly go to a different location to join as this place is full of KIDS who have no idea how to take care of customers..

This management is unacceptable. I am a CLS worker that works with kids and young adults with special needs. My client loves to play basketball so I took him to this Y to shoot around some. The management told me I wasn't allowed to shoot basketball with my client and that I could only watch. She was very rude and snarky. I told her the other YMCA's in the area let me and my clients in with a smile. She proceeded to tell me that she was the manager and she want going to let it happen.
