Norman McDonald's Country Drive-In

We love Norman McDonalds! This country gem is worth a little drive out of Owensboro for an awesome meal. The service is great, food is great, prices great and yes the atmosphere is true dining in a little country diner.Try the corn doggers, wonderful burgers, fries (curly or straight cut) delicious fresh salads and fried green tomatoes. Save room for a chocolate malt or other delicious treat.

Classic country diner. For an authentic KY home-cooked plate, look no further. Ice cream and milkshakes too. If you're coming through the area, skip Cracker Barrel and come here - this is the *real thing* that Cracker Barrel tries to imitate.

We drove to Norman McDonald's Country Drive-Inn from Louisville, maybe about 80 miles because the pictures looked great. From the minute we walked up to the carry out window I could smell the food and I was impressed. I got a Big M, which is their take of a Big Mac and let me just tell you that "I'm lovin' it"!!! The creaminess of the sauce with the well seasoned beef kept me wanting to keep eating it even though I was stuffed. I did wrap up half to take home, but let me tell you I thought about it the whole 80 miles back home. If you find your way out by Philpot, KY, definitely stop in and get anything there. You will not be disappointed. Oh and staff were super friendly and helpful. Even gave my Mom a free chocolate milkshake that they had made by accident!

I have eaten here a few times when passing through the area. It is a good roadside stop. The food is good country cooking in my opinion. It is worth your time. They call places like this a "little hole in the wall", Stop in, and try it, you will be glad you did.

Locally owned. Food is always good here. Good environment for the wife and kids. Home country like ambiance. Service is always good.

My husband and I love this place, our regular order is the Ribeye steak sandwich. Very consistent and the food is always great.
