Decent food/drink selection but the in-shop biscuits and burgers are outrageously expensive. Charging over $7.00 for an average-tasting biscuit is insanity! The cashiers are always nice though.

It is a gas station. You get what you need.Currently (Covid-times) they are only allowing one person per car inside the store at a time.My weird complaint is....why was my gas pump handle....sticky and oily?!Thankfully I have (obviously) been carrying hand sanitizer with me fairly consistently. But....GAG. I feel so gross even now just thinking about it.But I filled up on gas.I got home in one piece....shrug...

Natural Bridge Shell is awesome! It's a gas station, so please don't go in expecting a five star restaurant. Though they do have an extensive, and quite delicious, array of handmade baked goods. Otherwise, you're looking at fairly standard gas station snacks, and a bit of an extended "grocery" section due to the nearby camping areas. But, if you forgot your s'mores ingredients don't fret, this Shell's got 'em! Plus, plenty of Ale 8 to quench your thirst after a long hike through the gorge. This Shell is located kind of "in the middle of nowhere." As someone who lived part of her life in Eastern Kentucky, I can tell you there's much more "middle of nowhere" than this spot; but, if you're from the city, or used to living close to one, this is a pretty secluded area. Please don't go in expecting extremely reasonably priced (or under-priced like you'll find in big box stores) goods due to this reason. They don't bring in enough of a shopping crowd to be able to drop their prices to the floor. They charge what they have to, and yes it may be a dollar or two more than you're used to paying for certain items. And they're pretty well stocked! They carry most things that you may have forgotten to bring with you on your trip, plus lots of camping essentials. But, if you're well prepared for your trip into the gorge it's unlikely that you'll need to do anymore than light snack shopping, or maybe grabbing some ice, here anyway. On trips to the gorge this is a go-to stop for us for any items we may have forgotten, or any snack cravings that hit us. Plus, B and I both have family in EKY, and we typically travel back 3-4 times a year to visit. The route to get there takes us right by this Shell, and we usually stop for gas, snacks, or (for me) Candleberry Candles. I'm obsessed with these candles, and the cheapest you'll find them is $25. I've even seen them priced at $35 here in Louisville. Well, I'm here to tell you (PSA!) that Candleberry Large Jar Candles are only $19.99 at the Natural Bridge Shell! You heard me correctly! I always stop for three each time we pass. Plus they have the car fresheners and room spray! (I know, very exciting stuff.) I've always found this Shell to be well stocked, clean, and full of friendly employees. If you're passing by, or staying in the area, I'd say this Shell is definitely a great spot to stop for any of your gas, bathroom, snack, and/or light shopping needs.

They continuously lock their doors an hour before closing, but keep their open sign on. It's really annoying to pull in expecting them to be open, & walk to the doors to find out they're locked. While the two working women just walk past the doors & stare at you but don't even bother to tell you anything.

Cool place to get a snack or gas when in the Natural Bridge area. They have a small deli and donuts. They also have camping supplies and such if you need them and you're in the area doing some camping.

Aside from the subway next door and the crazy pizza shop down the road, shell will become your new restaurant for however long you stay. Im not kidding. There is nothing else. God help you if you decide to go to the gorge in the off season. I believe the shell is open 24 hours but i could be wrong. I ate the most expensive pb&j ever on this trip. Frozeb hungry man dinners were cheaper! Milk is outrageous but unless you brought your own its your only option. I actually brought those verizon milk boxes so we didnt need to buy it but holy cow! (pun not intended but oh well) they also sell pillows (not kidding) and a bunch of other stuff unsuspecting travelers mightve forgotten. Shampoo and conditioner, for example. We went without! But people are friendly. And they have one of those single serving pharmacies. Yay for allergies trying to bring me down!

If you want diesel, go to another station. Pump is always filthy, and there are never any towels at the pump. Also the pump is very strong- so while that's good for delivery trucks/semis, it would constantly click off on my pickup- forcing me to hold the handle to fill up.
