This was my first stay at a Moxy Hotel. I have always wanted to stay at one and I finally did it!Just as I was told by family and friends, upon entry there is loud music playing to get you hyped up about your visit. Check in is at the bar, no stuffy hostess station. So check in your room and order a drink at the same time!At this particular location, trying to bring your luggage in could be a challenge as there is no parking on site. There is a parking garage down the street. You can pay $25 for overnight or $35 for in and out access. That said, you have to double park, run your bags in, then drive down the street to park, so that's kind of odd. Also no valet if you are like me and used to that at hotels. The rooms are small. Kind of remind me of "tiny house" living. So don't come in with a whole lot of stuff, there isn't a ton of room but you have everything that you need. Also if you need an iron/ironing board, they have one on each floor near the elevators because there is really no room in your hotel room to have them. On Friday night the hotel has a DJ in the lobby! LOVE LOVE LOVE that! He would even take requests. You can dance down there and chat with other people just a lot of fun and bonus the bar doesn't close until 1am! There is also food you can buy (tacos) so when you are coming in late no worries food is there! Nice touch.Really enjoyed the hotel and looking forward to trying other Moxy's in other cities!

Probably not returning - it was fine for a night but I couldn't do this for more than one. The rooms are crazy small - about enough room for the bed and not our stuff. It tries to make the best of the space but it's still cramped. For one person it'd be okay, but with two it's more cramped than cozy. I know, that's the "thing" with this brand - I was just surprised that a New York City hotel had more space than Louisville. Front desk staff at night was super sketchy. Didn't explain the parking situation, just stared at me when I asked for validation since the sign at the garage literally has a sign saying to validate at the front desk. Never got my digital check in ahead of time, and when I checked in I asked for a late checkout and saw the guy write it down - only to have someone knocking on our door at 12:30 asking why we were still there, or if they should charge us an extra night. Got asked if I wanted to pay $50 to upgrade to a corner room when I had already submitted for an upgrade and was told none were available, then that we couldn't even upgrade for the fee because we were using points for the stay. Location is great though, right in the heart of downtown. You'll have plenty to do around here. Just overall a pretty negative experience. Although the front desk staff in the morning was *lightyears* ahead of the night crew, I don't have any plans to return here on my next trip.

After staying at Moxy Louisville this past weekend I feel most aligned with the two star reviews. Total Marriott loyal, loyal fans here, so many of their brands, never Moxy again.Never Moxy again.Decidedly rude staff behavior the entire stay seals the NEVER MOXY deal. Largely negative, glancing positive experience (housekeeping was positive) Nothing worth repeating. Ever. The only reason we can see for anyone over 45 to stay at the Moxy brand is if you're dating someone under 25. A very surly hipster central, staff setting the example. Just shy of rude, and absolutely not interested in your overnight experience. Or you. Institutionalized bad service. Bet it's part of the new hire training because it's not casual. They work at being rude. So cool NOT..Their self-proclaimed "Startenders" at the bar were arrogance personified. It was rather amusing how highly they thought of their hotel lobby performance / employment status. I'm justified in being a bit hateful because they (three of them total) were rude to this 50-something year old guy who had questions about Louisville.Just a vacationer looking for local insight. This is not the place to look for local, or brand ambassadors.Very NOT Marriott. If there was management on duty Saturday thru Tuesday we never saw any modicum of leadership. And just so you know leaders: your morning crew really resents you and your lies. Overheard!! Not my words. Mmm coffee, overheard. Promises not fulfilled. Another degree of sad for this place.Food at Zombie Taco is very good. Rooms are small, tight, awkward. From what I heard the staff say the aLoft up the hill is a much better place.Rolling out my other rewards programs if we ever return to Louisville. Marriott has a culture problem in Kentucky. Pity.

Moxy is one of my favorite hotel chains whenever I visit a new city! This whole hotel is a vibe to me. It is such a modern, industrial-style hotel, and I love how cozy each hotel is. Some of the reviews for this place stated that it could be deafening at times since the doors are not soundproof, and yes, it is true, but I did not mind it when I stayed here since it was to be expected? This hotel is located in a highly coveted area in Louisville. When I came here, many events were happening downtown, such as concerts and significant sports events--so the loud noises at night were expected. The first floor/lobby area is where the fun happens at this hotel. The other guests staying here were so much fun to chat and hang out with downstairs. There is also a taco shop where you can order your tacos online, and they will be ready for pick-up in a few minutes. The bar is a great one as well. The drinks were curated for the guests, and the services were 10/10. I love the ambiance of this place! Parking can be challenging and expensive if you drive your car downtown as most places are first come, first serve in the garage and street parking. On the other hand, I did not have to drive as my friend from Louisville had to pick me up from my hotel to do our adventure in the city.

We were familiar with the Moxy brand because everytime we visit New York we stay at Moxy Timesquare. So we figured we try the one in Louisville since we were going back home for the weekend to celebrate my sister in laws birthday. All in all we liked the Moxy in Louisville. The customer service was great. The atmosphere at night was great. The music was blasting just the way we like it, however there was one issue that we didn't like which isn't a deal breaker but is still a cause for some concerns. Well on the Marriott website they advertised parking as $25 which indicates they support parking at their hotel, but to our surprise this was not the case. When we arrived we were told we could park where it said hotel parking, but was never told it was a first come first served basis we found this out the hard way. How it works is you go to kiosk and pay $25 for whole day. So if you leave and someone comes in and takes that spot you won't have a place to park. It was more open to the public Vs being for hotel guest causing us to lose out on $25 as well as us having to park all the toward the water front. We wished this was disclosed and conveyed to us because it caused so much hassle. This was the only issue we had which was costly to us other than that the hotel was good!

I'd been wanting to stay in a Moxy for a while and finally got the chance. This hotel is hip and funky, with the friendliest staff. I love the lounge/bar/lobby area. The rooms are super cute and seem to have a "Louisville feel" to them. While the room is compact, the shower is nice and there are plenty of hooks. The only thing I didn't like was that the door to the toilet automatically closes. The views were great. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. It was a great stay. I'd love to stay at a Moxy again, especially this Louisville one.

Moxy are affordable urban boutique hotels with everything you want and nothing you don't.You'll notice the difference when you check in at the bar and receive a complimentary free Moxy welcome cocktail. The lobby in Louisville is a fun gathering spot with a fireplace and lots of games to play with other guests. Zombie Taco has a location there and serves up tasty bites. I had tacos and a burrito for breakfast. Super quick service. Keep in mind they aren't open for breakfast on Monday's.The rooms at the Moxy are super small, almost hostel size. Just big enough for a comfy bed, walk-in shower, sink and toilet. Each features a fresh and modern design, and their spaces have been smartly organized to use every inch of the room to its full potential. If you use Uber, they won't pick you up at The Moxy, but rather at The Distil. The Distil is connected to The Moxy so take their elevator down to their lobby. As a Marriott branded hotel, you get Bonvoy points for your stay.

One of the most unique hotels I have been to recently! Staying at Moxy is a must! First, parking wise, we parked kiddy corner behind the hotel in a parking lot that had overnight parking. Had a minute, if that walk to the hotel. Checking in was nothing like I have experienced before. Forget your typical boring and stuffy hotel lobby and instead you check in at the bar. The bar is just to the left and you can see it, as soon as you walk in. Staff were all super friendly and fun. Upon our check-in, we also received a token for a free drink at the bar. The free drink I believe was their Got Moxy which was vodka, hibiscus, and lime - so delicious! They also offered complimentary coffee in the morning, in addition to a snack area offering other drinks and things to eat for purchase. The lobby has a ton of things going on, the bar of course, but also a game room, fireplace, and plenty of places to lounge. Zombie tacos also greet you and do yourself a favor and get a taco. The elevator is also not your standard elevator. Black lights and writings on the elevator walls keeps your interest as you wait for your floor. The design is very loud within the lobby and elevator but our room design was warm and simple. Our room was compact but mighty. The cons included no refrigerator, no microwave, and the soap/shampoo/conditioner/body wash were all not one time use and instead were big bottles. I get the environmental impact but it was a little cringey for me for some reason. Now the pros, the bed was super comfortable and the room was clean. Love the non-carpeted floors. A ton of smart storage solutions throughout the room such as places to put your shoes beneath the bed, a desk that can fold down and be put away when not needed, and peg wall storage to name a few. The room we were in had a private toilet but the sink and shower were within the room. The TV offered Netflix and the room also had a convenient master switch to turn off all the lights in the room. This place is also pet friendly! One of my favorite amenities was the retro hotel room phone that offered three different bedtime stories to help you fall asleep. Such a different hotel experience and would absolutely stay again.

My review is strictly for the Moxy hotel cocktail bar. After our original destination was booked for a private event, we stumbled upon this spot. Upscale and yet comfortable, intimate yet lively. The staff was top notch and incredibly welcoming. My friends and I grabbed a seat near the window. The gorgeous weather lent the windows to be open, which kept those on the patio connected to the space and music. The cocktail menu offered drinks of all varieties - bourbon, vodka, tequila, gin. I opted for Pretty AF, a gin drink with elderberry, cranberry juice and bubbles. So, so good ... all 3 of them! Zombie Taco lets you order a few late night goodies. I ordered my chips and dips at the kiosk and within 2 minutes it was ready at the pick up window. The lobby bar offers so much seating, one area with a fire pit, another with table games like Jenga - but regardless it feels like a classy spot, not a sports bar that offers the same options. This will be a preferred spot for drinks and conversation with friends.

Had a fabulous time at the Moxy downtown hotel at the zombie taco bar! What a great concept! If you go in the month of October... you can find a little gummy fingers or teeth floating in your drinks! They also had a terret card reader and my favorite was the lady with the whiskey bottles giving out the samples of this pecan Lacore that I would use in so many recipes this fall Thanksgiving and Christmas season! Love the time that I had at the Moxie Louisville downtown hotel in zombie Taco bar!I really enjoyed meeting my new friends and looking forward to doing many more outings together especially at fun functions like this one!
