Momma's Mustard Pickles & BBQ

Should I have eaten all this home-cooked goodness for lunch and expected to go back to work and be productive? Maybe not. Do I have regrets? Zero.This is GOOD EATS. The server was friendly and attentive, even during a lunch rush.The meatloaf was good, and because I know she can feel me writing this review, let met just say--my mom's is still the best. It's 2025, and I hope we are all finally on the same page: a proper ketchup glaze in all it's glory is a must, and MMPB nailed it. For me, the real stars were the sides. Creamy mac & cheese and slow-cooked green beans were delish, but roll out the red carpet because the creamed-corn ATE. It was rich and flavorful without masking the corn itself, which is exactly what you want in a vegetable side.The portions and price equation 'mathed' just right in my head. And on a second visit to Hurstbourne (my personal favorite location), I had a frozen cocktail that tasted like a nod to a Painkiller--aka one of my all-time favorite drinks. That, plus the same exact re-order I had for lunch?? A time was HAD.

Momma's is the best!We loved everything we had!Fantastic service, tons of options, and it's nice and quiet!We loved the spicy fried pickles, I wish I could eat them right now!We ate meatloaf, sliders, grilled cheese, then some more sliders!The baked beans are the absolute best! We loved the Cole slaw, we loved the corn casserole and the green beans, the Mac and cheese and the corn bread!Don't forget the bread pudding!!

The environment is inviting and as you enter the door you are greeted by the sweet aromas of BBQ. I had the half chicken. Very well seasoned. Cole slaw was also tasty, not your run of the mill Kroger slaw. Potato salad was ok, but went well with the chicken. The rest of my party did pulled pork nachos. These are epic. The nachos are topped with nearly everything. They ran out of chips and were flexible to serve them with fries instead. Great beer selection. Great cheerful service. If I lived here, I'd visit again.

The wings are phenomenal. They are plump and fall off the bone. The seasoning is so good, you don't have to add any sauces. I love the fried pickles as well. They have a sweeter taste than most. The service was quick and setting is a typical bbq place, but it had a lot of room.

I had a wonderful lunch at Momma's today! I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and got mac and cheese and corn bread as my 2 sides. They were all so good!! Their corn bread is my favorite I also had a bourbon slushie or a "blushie" as our waitress called it. Our waitress was awesome, super friendly and did a great job!!

Best fried pickles in all of Louisville (IMO)! Wear your comfy pants or plan on sharing a meal because portion sizes are quite large. This place doesn't disappoint and I can see why it's a favorite among locals.

Stopped in for a quick carryout after an exhausting day of work. Mamma's delivered. I ordered a half rack of pork ribs and a side of slaw coleslaw and the order was filled in five minutes . The ribs were not fall off the bone tender but very tasty. Nicely flavored run, I use no added sauce. Even the slaw had nice seasoning to it - somewhat on the spicy side. The server was very friendly and professional. Filled the bag with utensils and napkins as requested.

Stopped in here for dinner. Was seated promptly however the service was a tad slow. Started with the wings. They were a 10/10! Dry rub and smoked. The ranch was fresh and homemade. Best wings I have had. For my entree, I ordered the brisket grilled cheese, Mac and cheese, and green beans. The brisket was dry and the green beans were bland. The mac and cheese was okay, just your typical and cheese.

Momma's has pretty good food, good service, and a relaxed atmosphere. We ordered pulled chicken grilled cheese and fried bologna grilled cheese. Both were good, but pretty greasy. For sides, the fries were really good, the mustard based potato salad was really good, the baked beans were good, and the green beans were ok. For alcohol, they have a good selection of beers on tap and in bottles or cans, some wines, a large bourbon selection and several specialty mixed drinks.

Got takeout last night. Burnt ends with cornbread and green beans. I lived in Kansas City for awhile, but those burnt ends were better here than any I had in KC. Wow! That smokey flavor. The cornbread was sweet and delicious. The Green beans were so, so--a bit watery. The spicy BBQ sauce was excellent, but I avoided putting it on the burnt ends because I didn't want it to obscure the gloriousness of the meat. My order was up in less than 5 minutes, which was a blessing since I was going in hungry.
