Our group stopped in here for the every other Wednesday trivia and DJ playing some great tunes. Also, a fish lunch special and a treat (today was a pumpkin cupcake with cream cheese frosting). The fish filet is large enough to be presented as being for 2 sandwiches at many other restaurants. Witnessed a woman win a hula hoop contest keeping it spinning for over 30 seconds and saw a guy dance by himself like his life depended on it. In other words, great people watching. The DJ is a terrific emcee and keeps the energy upbeat. Great value, location, and entertainment. Plenty of parking and a beautiful setting.

We will never be back to this restaurant. It's not the food we have had in the past. Staff is horrible and do not return calls. My husband ordered frog legs and corn. I ordered a burger fry's and slaw. Two soft drinks.....$52.60.My husband got food poisoning and all they could come back with is we will notate this but no one else has called in. You don't serve food to a table in less than 5 minutes and then he gets sick two days later and all you want to do is NOTATE IT!!! Shame on you for not taking care of customer who got sick eating your food either sitting too long or not cooking properly!! We will NEVER SUPPORT YOUR RESTAURANT AGAIN!You don't deserve a STAR AT ALL!!!!

We try to get here at least once a year. This year is their 100th Anniversary. This is our valentine dinner a week late, due to snowstorm in Kentucky last weekend. Has always been great.

After living in Louisville for nearly 16 years, I fiiiiiiinally checked out Mike Linnig's Restaurant. This spot was on my husband's list as well, so for Father's Day we thought this would make a fun treat. And it lived up to its hype. We arrived shortly after they opened, and after waiting about 30 minutes, we were able to get a table inside, a relief considering it was 90-something degrees outside. One thing we learned: There are two lines, one for a table-service inside and the other for takeout for the large outdoor pavilion. Be sure to get in the line that you want, and if you're in a hurry, you could see which one is moving faster. I got the fish plate with 2 pieces of fish, fries and cole slaw and Mike Linnig's famous tartar sauce on the side. This was expertly fried fish, light and crisp breading with ample spice. I also loved the hushpuppies, which were larger than others I've had and freshly made. My husband and father-in-law split the Seafood Plate, which had a bit of everything, with white fish, scallops, fried salmon and even frog legs. If you're hungry and want to try a bit of everything, this is definitely the thing to get. And after we ate, we found the large outdoor playground. My kids had a ball. They adequately wore themselves out and slept on the way home. You can also walk up to the Louisville Loop and see the river beyond that. Mike Linnig's is a Louisville institution, celebrating its 100th birthday next year. It took us too long to experience it, but we will be back.

The food was delicious as usual. ML was an extremely busy place on Saturday early evening. The kitchen was doing the best it could do for the volume of people they served. We waited in the line for 75-90 minutes. (Lost track of time) :)It took another 45 minutes to get food. It was fresh and hot! It's an incredible place to go. If it's nice out, expect long lines and a bit of a wait. We were not in a hurry, which is fortunate for us. We drove about 25 miles to get there via a detour because a bridge in our area was shut down. So if you want fresh fish, crab legs ( didn't have this time around) and variety of seafood and chicken, try ML out. I think they have steak and hamburger too. It is in a scenic location on the Ohio River (a 15 minute walk to the flood wall) with a nice walking path.

This is such a shame that they have spent all their money on their venue setting and lost their way on what people like which is their food. I received their seafood platter which was horrible all except the crab cakes. They gave on the platter 1shrimp 2 scallops 1 crab cake and one frog leg fish bites and a big cod fillet which came to $33.00. All was over cooked scallops here used to be to die for but not when it so overcooked that it was like rubber. When we were in route the menus online said just the scallop was 14.99 get there it's 22.99 for half order. Very disappointing to see how the food has suffered here.

This is a staple of the west end, the portions are huge as always making it easy to share. We live a distance away but we still make the trip at least once a year or anytime we are in the area.

I've heard about Mike Linnings for a while now. I ordered the seafood platter. Waited 40 minutes for our food. We got some kind of white fish, shrimp, scallops, salmon and fish nuggets. Hush puppies were decent, shrimp were pretty good. The fish had no seasoning, the salmon was fried and very dense, cod is gross. This might be a me thing as I'm from the Deep South and not the Midwest. Midwesterners seem to love it though. It's always packed
