We never tried this place so we stopped in to check them out. To be honest it was scary looking after looking at the very small menu we both decided to leave without ordering.

Mexico Lindo is a small authentic Mexican restaurant with a Mexican grocery attached. Easy to miss, it is located behind and to the side of a Rite Aid pharmacy. This is not your typical Mexican chain restaurant. While the (relatively small) menu has offerings for American tastes, the entire point of coming to Mexico Lindo is for the authentic Mexican food. Owned and operated by Mexicans (same family I'd imagine), many of the staff do not speak english. The restaurant, in my opinion, was created to satisfy the tastes of Mexican migrant workers, not to add to the deluge of "Americanized Mexican" restaurants.Of course you can find burritos, enchilades, carne asada, chimichangas, and fajitas, as well as steak, various salads, and stuff for the kids. The real draw is the back page of the menu.Entitled "Con Puro Sabor Mexicano", this is where you find the traditional, authentic offerings. Empanadas, tortas, big mexican-style tacos (complete with onions & cilantro, with spicy salsa verde, and lime on the side... pollo - my favorite)... you can even get Ceviche & Coctel De Camaron. The last two I'd like to try, but maybe not in Kentucky where the closest we are to the ocean is the Ohio River. It might be delicious, though! They're not in business to impress the public majority with a large menu or over-the-top-delicious food. In fact, you can find most of the items in a thousand other Mexican-style restaurants, with prices comparable to what you'd expect normally. However, if you want truly authentic Mexican fare (including imported beers and sodas), at EXTREMELY reasonable prices, you'd do well to stop in. Overall, I'd call their food average-to-above average, but in my book the authentic dishes are quite tasty and VERY filling. The prices of the authentic menu are matched to wages of migrant workers. One authentic taco costs $1.50, and they're BIG! I have trouble getting completely through two of them! Add to that the complimentary chips and salsa (also tasty), you'll have no trouble leaving with your belly, as well as your wallet, full.By no means the Best Of The Best, they don't try to outdo anyone. What they do, however, they do pretty well. The next time you're in the area and have a hankering for REAL Mexican, skip the chains, order from the back of the menu, and give Mexico Lindo a try!

Tucked away behind the Mexican grocery store, the small, very authentic restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. They serve beer. Cantina atmosphere.

Best authentic Mexican food within a 100 mile radius. The food is what shines here. If you know, you know. I'll be stopping back often to get my lunch & horchata!

Not fancy but it's clean. Simple menu with straightforward choices. We both got $9 burritos with everything. They were tasty and filling.

Excellent authentic Mexican food, I just wish they were open all day, every day. Right now they're closed on Wednesday and their hours are 11-2 and 4-7.

The menu is simple and straightforward, the prices are beyond reasonable, and the tacos are quite literally to die for. You will be hard pressed to find a truly authentic Mexican restaurant on par with Mexico Lindo in Kentucky, Indiana or Ohio. Many employees do not speak English, so it's best to keep your order simple, but regardless of what you get, you cannot go wrong here.
