Still a great place. We've been here a lot since last year and huevos rancheros is still my go-to. I alternate between this and my other fave - the spicy fish soup.

Freshly prepared good tasting tacos and more.Sweet Horchata was a perfect drink.Soup bowls are enormous and big enough for two.Lots of candies, miscellaneous small produce section with lots of jalapeños. There is even a small meat market in the rear of the clean shop.Several daily specials on the chalk board.

One of the best tasting flans we've ever had. The papaya was delicious too. Definitely planning on returning.

Did not care for the fresh made tamales. Too much masa...not enough meat. My mother and i go there to get a large container of the hot hot green sauce. Not sure what it is called...but we add it to our meat when we make tamales. They also have a great selection of tortillas. Bought corn husks there. The tacos are average. Get them on taco Tuesday to save some money. The manudo soup looks good but i have not tried. A other customer had it at their table. The bowl is huge!!! Suggest going there without children. Not a very large restaurant as half of it is a grocery store

Do you ever feel like you want "old school" combined with takeout? Today was that day and Mexico City 2 was that place.Stopped for carry out and it's Taco Tuesday! Things may go well.Taco City 2 is a combination Mexican grocery and restaurant. First time here and had it not been recommended, I might have never considered it.Taco Tuesday is three street tacos (double corn tortilla shell) for $5 and your choice of chicken, beef, or pork.Ordered 3 beef and 3 chicken and a side of rice and refried beans to share. Both my daughter and I preferred the flavor of the chicken over the beef. The beef is of the shredded variety and not the type you might find at a Mexican fast food restaurant. The chips are thick and seemed to have a lime flavor but it was the spicy guacamole that got my attention. It was tangy (medium) but not hot.The whole process took about 10 minutes and I was out the door with my street tacos. They have several booths for dine in so it's nothing fancy and it's in a convenience store/restaurant so keep your expectations in check. However, where are you going to go for six tacos, rice and beans, chips and guac for $18 on a Tuesday?Next time you're thinking old school, give Mexico City 2 a try.

Mexico City 2 is a bodega style taqueria and small Mexican grocery store in Clarksville. They serve Mexican street food. It's kind of hidden on Progress Way (behind Sam's Club), off of Veteran's Parkway. I've eaten at the other location, Mexico City, and really liked it. Their other location is just a restaurant/taqueria (no tienda) and located in Jeffersonville. (It's on the border of Clarksville and only about 1 1/2 miles from Mexico City 2.) Their other location has a more extensive menu. Mexico City 2 has seating inside, both tables and booths, and they have table service. You can order at the counter and get your food to go as well. At their other location, Mexico City, I had a Pambazos, which was wonderful! However, it's a lot of food. So, I opted for a carnitas gordita and an asada sope. Both were delicious, but my favorite was the gordita. It was a lot of food for about $7. In fact, I had to take home about 80% of the sope because I couldn't finish it after eating chips and the gordita.Their salsas were really tasty as well. The red one was pretty chunky and had a nice flavor. They also had three refrigerated bottled ones that varied in flavor and heat. I liked them all and rotated. The chips were typical, but good. Since they are a tienda, there's plenty of options to grab to eat or drink with your meal beyond the taqueria menu. They had fresh baked goods and plenty of packaged ones as well. I couldn't resist trying their homemade flan and took a piece to go. It was delicious and a very big slice for $3. They also had a big case of Mexican drinks and sodas. The staff was very friendly, just as I had experienced at the other location. English was spoken by the two people I had contact with, which was a relief because my four semesters of Spanish in college have only rendered me with broken kindergarten Spanish sentences. They were also very efficient and my food came out very fast. It was also very inexpensive for the portion size. I will definitely be making a trip back here soon and I highly recommend this place if you like authentic Mexican street food.

First time eating here. I have a buddy who introduced me to authentic tacos and I can't get enough of them now! Mexico City 2 has great tacos! I tried the Al Pastor today and really liked them. Top it off with a Mexican Coke and that's what I call a meal!
