Entering the restaurant was like stepping into a culinary nightmare, and the horrors only continued to unfold with each dish. Let's dive deeper into the abyss of disappointment, starting with the abomination that dared to call itself mutton rogan Josh. Its unnaturally orange hue was an assault on the eyes, matched only by its utter lack of flavor. It was as if the kitchen had given up entirely and decided to throw together whatever remnants of curry they could find, hoping no one would notice. But wait, it gets worse. The chicken tikka and paneer tikka were akin to chewing on rubbery erasers, a sad reminder of the horrors of overcooking. It's as if they were dredged up from the depths of culinary purgatory, reheated with little care or consideration. And don't even get me started on the veg biryani. If flavor were a distant memory, this dish would be its funeral dirge. It lacked depth, complexity, and any semblance of seasoning, leaving me wondering if the spices had gone on strike. Now, onto the elephant in the room: the lack of professionalism in the kitchen. While it's admirable that the restaurant is a family-run affair, the absence of a professional chef was painfully evident in every lackluster bite. It's time to face the music and realize that passion alone cannot make up for the expertise and finesse of a trained culinary artist. And let's not forget the cherry on top of this culinary catastrophe: the overcharge for a nonexistent biryani. While they did refund the cost of the dish, conveniently ignoring the taxes we paid on it, it's a stark reminder of the restaurant's blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. In a world where every dollar counts, such negligence is simply unacceptable. But fear not, for amidst the wreckage, there lies a glimmer of hope. The garlic naan, while not enough to salvage the sinking ship, was a brief respite from the chaos. It begs the question: if the naan can shine amidst such darkness, why must the rest of the menu languish in mediocrity? In the spirit of constructive criticism, here are a few pointers for improvement: invest in professional training for the kitchen staff, prioritize quality ingredients over quantity, and strive for consistency in both flavor and presentation. Only then can this restaurant hope to rise from the ashes of its own culinary ineptitude. Until then, consider this a warning to all who dare to venture within its walls: abandon hope, all you who enter here.

There's definitely room for another Indian restaurant in Lexington, and unlike the others, this one is downtown across the street from the UK student center and has a pretty nice indoor and outdoor ambiance. They're well set up, and notably their online ordering system lets you filter their menu for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free items.I ate in person, however, and tried a distinctive appetizer: a set of lentil-based kebabs that came with a spread of splendid condiments, including pickled onions, a slightly spicy mint chutney, and the sweeter tamarind. I ordered bhindi masala as an entree, and of course fried okra is known here as a Southern American dish, but the Indian version offers plenty of chance for creativity, with their version having a hint of lemon set against the warming spices. My aloo paratha delivered an onion-y flavor and was useful for mopping things up.Fresh tastes and whole spices abounded, and if they can maintain this quality after the new restaurant smell wears off, they'll be setting the standard in Lexington.

Both chicken and lamb were overcooked. Also way overpriced: $20 for lamb tikka with rice (serving size is small). Naan was dry, dull, smokey flavored, burnt and had flour dust on the bottom. Service was okay, not fast like other reviews say. Cute plates though.

I ordered food for delivery from this establishment at 11:50am today, to be delivered to my office which is literally 1.1 miles or 5 mins away. While on their website, you are forced to place an order through repasorder.com.. which charged me taxes and a delivery fee of $7. Anyway, let's come to the food. As this was my first order, I thought I'll play it safe and order aloo ka paratha and chicken biryani. My mistake. Chicken biryani is sooo spicy that I can't even eat it. I asked for "medium spice" which in my head is like a 5-6/10. But this is like 9/10. Also, I specifically asked for no nuts/raisins to be added.. put it down in special instructions. And lo and behold, the biryani is heavily topped with almond slithers. Chicken can hardly be seen and the rice are definitely stale. :( The raita with the biryani is so overly tart that it's inedible. The yogurt has gone bad for sure. Aloo ka paratha looked nice but is dry as a desert with hardly any stuffing! It took 54 mins for the food to be delivered from 5 mins away... hence, I thought that the food would be fresh. Very disappointed! Will not be trying again.

Wonderful to have an Indian food option so close to campus. Chana Masala was good though a little runny. Loved the spice/taste of the Spinach and Mango salad though a little less onion (it was easily a small, whole one) would make it perfection. If you order pickup, call before you go as the online and email estimates are off. Looking forward to trying this soot again!

It's great to have an Indian buffet near campus -- I hope this alone keeps them business. On my first visit we opted for the buffet because we were with someone who was inexperienced with Indian cuisine. I would never return for their buffet again (unless extremely desperate). The flavors were all either sweet or bland. Meats were not tender. Naan was soggy, soft, and wet? They literally passed white basmati rice with VERRRRY little flavor as biryani. Extremely disappointing.I'd like to give their a la carte menu a try though. Maybe they try to keep things at a low cost for their buffet and theirs more "flavor" in the individual entrees? I can only hope!

Located right by girlsgirlsgirls Burritos, across from UK's campus. I went on a Monday during lunchtime for their lunch buffet and an entree. It was very open and had quite a bit of natural light. The staff were friendly, greeted us, and seated us right away. My husband tried about half the options offered at the lunch buffet and noticed that the food seemed watered down, not very spicy/seasoned, and did not have much to offer. I ordered the aloo gobi (mild) and garlic naan. The aloo gobi was well seasoned, the rice could use more cumin seeds and cardamon, and the garlic naan tasted good but could have been crispier. I would go here again and order the aloo gobi but I would get the naan from somewhere else.
