We are gonna have a new pool floor with fresh pool water after Labor Day of 2021.

The city of Louisville's public pool offerings are limited and logistically a crapshoot, but credit where credit is due -- this is a unique facility. The Meagher Aquatic Center is a legit olympic pool, which is a mixed bag for a hack like me who has to take a 20-minute break after struggling for a single run of 50 meters. But it's great that they offer adults a place to go and swim laps, with modest admission fees, good hours, and limited risk that you're going to be disrupted by too many kiddos.I've only enjoyed the lap swim (open til 8pm!), but I understand they do swim lessons, and they have a place for free weights and cardio equipment. Some people out there might actually do some swimming and some weightlifting on the same visit. And admission as of this writing is just $8 for regular schmoes and I'm creeping ever closer to that $4.50 over-55 price. There are other discounts too for monthly/member/multi-visit/etc.

We didn't want to have to wait for Tom Sawyer pool to open to the public at 2:30pm, so we researched and the Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center was open! Very nice space with the left side of the front pool open to the public. There was a small camp group there during the time we were, but the lifeguards moved the lane ropes to make more space for us all. There was even a long time period where we had the pool to ourselves! They have nice lawn chairs that can be used to place your bags on. There's also a basketball goal with a ball and nice slide for the kids to go down. The restrooms and shower area are nice and spacious. There is even a nice splash park and playground outside to play on.

Somebody ought to call the Governor's office and remind him that this particular pool serves just about all of Louisville. By the way, don't go here. If you go here, I'm gonna have to park further from the door! I love this pool, and I swim, work out, or take water aerobics classes five days a week! By the way, they need lifeguards, so if you're a lifeguard, get on over there and get a job!!

I've been a lifeguard for Mary T since September of 2021. It's been a wonderful experience and the patrons and employees have been great to me. I recommend lifeguards to work there, and swimmers to have a great exercise routine. We also have an exercise room for good fitness. I hope to see more people there when I continue to work there.

Love this pool. The cost for a year's membership is so affordable. Rarely have a problem getting a lane. Definitely recommend!

Mary T. is an older, junior Olympic sized pool mostly meant for lap swimming and swim lessons. It is perfect for swimming laps. The water temp is perfect and other patrons mind their own business. This is NOT one of those gyms where many are there to impress. At Mary T., you come in, do your thing, and get out. There is a smallish workout room as well. About once a month, they offer fun events for kids...like a "dive in" movie night. Lakeside Swim Club practices here on Mondays-Fridays from 3:30-6:30..beware...it can get a little crazy. They swarm in with backpacks and take over the locker room and the majority of the lanes. Depending on the day, you may still get a lane to yourself. Saturday mornings tend to be the busiest time...plan to circle swim with a couple of other people. They have a therapy lane and offer daily, monthly, or yearly passes. Its $6.00 for a single visit. Bring a small lock for the lockers.

We went there with some younger family members to swim. It's not too bad, pretty cheap, but if you have young ones, you need to keep an eye on them. Lifeguards there are a joke. They sit on their chairs, not even looking at the children, I even overheard a customer shout "hey lifeguard" two times, and he continued to look down at his phone, watch, or something. The facility is great, they just need to hire lifeguards who give a damn about safety.

Mary T Meagher (or "The Bubble" as some people still call it) is a very well-maintained and spacious place to get in some laps. Memberships are available, or there is a $5.50 drop-in fee that allows you to use either the pool or the fitness room. There are often families with kids there in the summer - fair warning for those who don't want to crawl through waters choppy with cannonballs. I spent way too much time in this particular pool in my life, but still think it's one of the best indoor swimming places in the city, probably THE best public pool we have. The fitness room is a little depressing. The last time I was there, some of the equipment was rusty from the humidity of the pool, and the volume on the TV was broken. That meant I had to spend my 4 miles on the dreadmill (pun intended) watching a mediocre show with close captioning. I would have added some Pandora to pass the time, but my cell phone provider (Sprint) didn't get good service in the facility. Still, it's doable if you're in town for a visit and just need to stay moving.

Mary T Pool is fabulous. It's busy because they have school teams practicing there, but there's always a few lanes open for lap swimmers. They have 25 yd lanes on one side and 25 meter lanes on the other. Sometimes during competition season, they open up the lanes to make 50 meter lanes. I swim with the Master Swim Team and we always get enough lanes for our practices. There's also a weight room that could really use some help, some of the equipment needs some maintenance or replacement. There's a warm pool for elder swimmers and the locker rooms are large enough to hold a lot of people with plenty our showers. There's a walking path of about .8 miles around the reservoir outside, next to the facility and a playground just outside. This pool saved my sanity during covid by staying open. We couldn't use the locker rooms and the deck was opened making it cold, but if you could brave the cold, you could swim. There's also recycling center in the back of the parking lot. I've never been unable to get parking even with all the teams activity. Occasionally it's very limited swimming due to swim meets, but other than that, I have found this pool to be my favorite place to swim and stay in shape.

This place is awesome! the staff is friendly, the pool water is very clean, the locker room floors are mopped daily, and the annual membership is very reasonable.
