Marathon Gas

JB Marathon is awesome place for home cooked meals. We have ordered from them several times for our large group gatherings. Becky is amazing at fixing large portions to feed a crowd. It is always hot and ready at your pick up time. Do not hesitate to call and order for your next event. For our family event in January 4, 2025 we ordered Chicken strips, fried chicken, Mac n Cheese , Mashed potatoes (real potatoes) Green Beans and Yeast rolls to feed around 35. Everyone thought is was amazing. Goldie the owner, his family and Becky are amazing to work with. I agree with the other reviewer that it is better than some restaurants. Prices are very reasonable. Inside this gas station is a full-service takeout place that has tasty offerings for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Everything is homemade, including the biscuits, rolls, Mac and cheese, green beans. There is a smoker out front for ribs. Lots of local color and charm from the woman who does all the cooking in the small kitchen (I marvel at the offerings that come out of it). The fish is good, as is the fried chicken, chicken tenders, and generally everything else. Portions are hearty and reasonably priced (meat and two sides runs around 5.50). If you stop here for gas, go inside and get some grub! It's so worth it!

I'm not even kidding when I say the food that they have at this gas station is better than most restaurants. The main cook Becky is a wonderful chef, for someone to be able to cook such large portions and have it come out as delectable as it does takes some skill. This girl asked me if there was any places that served good food around here and I told her marathon she looked at me like I was crazy and said "I meant like restaurants or diners" and I said "yeah marathon, has the best southern cooking around".

Small kitchen with Kentuckanese cuisine, that is as good as it gets! Prices are moderate, helpings are huge!Try the breakfast or lunch! Turkey club is made to order. Salads and pasta in the cold section! I have never been disappointed!
