OK, so I have very much been meaning to check this place out - the pictures I've seen of the butterflies have always been the coolest. Finally got the chance to check them out and I see why this coffee shop is essentially a fixture! Service was great with how many people and orders were coming in (they even had a birthday party going on). There's a pretty extensive menu, and I would love to try their food, those waffles look very satisfying. Did end up getting their Coffee Week specials. The lemonade was just sweet enough and very refreshing with the hot weather. The cold brew was delicious but a bit too much for us.

Took my mom and daughter for their first experiences, and they loved it as much as I do! I ordered the Ham & Gruyère sliders with the Brussels sprouts salad. My mom got the tomato basil soup and beet salad. My daughter had already eaten and ran around playing with all the stuffed animals. This time I made such to check out the giant secondary dining room, and was surprised to see so many tables and with people playing games! We also made a point to actually see the butterflies this time. Just magical. :)

I needed a coffee shop to work and was told Luna's would be a good spot. When I saw they also served lunch I decided to eat lunch, work and then get a latte. The place is bigger than it looks. There are two rooms to sit in with lots of table options and couches. There is a semi gift shop to buy trinkets. For lunch I got the roast beef sliders with salad ($14) and I got a chai latte ($5) with oat milk. The sliders were very good, the beef was tender and juicy. The chai had the perfect amount of spice to it. They also sell alcoholic beverages but I did not try any since I was working. I will be back to try the espresso martini!

This little cafe is a little off the beaten path, but well worth the trip to Jessamine County. My most recent trip was a girls lunch when me and my bestie for a bite of lunch. I had the quiche and tomato soup combo. The quiche was ham and cheddar the tomato soup had a lovely hint of basil I would have both again. They have a great little bar, and a nice selection of wine and specialty drinks. You order at the counter and they give you a number, it feels very unrushed and a great place to visit and enjoy their goodies. They have a lovely assortment of butterfly related gifts and jewelry. But the really fun part of going here is a visit to the butterfly garden, sadly because people like to spray for bugs and weeds, they did not have as many butterflies as they have had in years past, it was still fun to see this beautiful creatures up close.

Located in Lexington is a hip little eatery named Luna's. We were invited to a friends birthday party, not sure as what to expect. It was outstanding! They have a butterfly motif and a butterfly sanctuary behind the establishment. Loved the seating it popped with color. Every effort has been made to make you feel comfortable, and we did.The service was outstanding the staff were more than eager assist or answer questions. They have a full service bar with a very nice young lady who answered every question we asked. The food was a catered event, everything was delicious.I did check out the menu for their normal hours, it will be nice to try some of those items. If you are going to Keeneland or a Kentucky athletic event, leave early and stop by for a drink and app!

Cute little place. We sat around a large table in the secondary room. The roasted tomato, goat cheese and arugula quiche was very good, served with a side of fruit. The butterflies are in a very small greenhouse on the side of the building.73

I love Luna's Coffee Wine and Butterfly Cafe. It's such a cozy cafe and they have a little bit of everything. It's one of my favorite places to go to for brunch but for the first time some friends and I checked out their dinner menu. I opted for their pick two choice and I ordered tomato basil soup and goat cheese, beet, and pecan salad. I also ordered a small side of roasted garlic potatoes because I heard they were really good and, omg, were they ever!!! I had a plain jane lemonade to drink which was also good and not on the super sweet side. Overall, this is a great place for any meal!

No greeting. But very friendly at counter. Salmon Salad with quinoa and edamame was delicious.

Food was tasty though I wished the shaved brussel sprouts side salad wasn't served raw - would have enjoyed the sprouts served lightly steamed with the rest of the ingredients as they were - just personal preference. The cafe has a sort of boho relaxed vibe about it with comfy couch seating if you prefer it over tables and chairs. The service was quick too but you never felt rushed to finish your meal and leave. My friend and I were able to relax and visit a bit without the staff checking in too often.I'd likely come again if in the area.

I sent my grad student daughter four breakfast places ideas I found on Reddit. She texted back that Luna's sounded magical, and it really was. We are from (northern) Virginia, and pulled into park, and had to visit the horses by the bank (what? I love this town!). When we turned around, we saw these gorgeous wildflowers on the side near the picnic tables, then saw the greenhouse. Truly not knowing we could explore it, we still walked towards it, then realized it was a butterfly garden-house. We entered, and we were greeted--and amazed--by many butterflies. Next we walked into the cafe, and noticed that there were butterfly habitats. My 23 year old was so enamored, and literally squealed when she realized one had just emerged from a chrysalis--and was drying its wings. (We recalled how fingers were crossed as you entered elementary school each spring, wondering if today was the day the butterflies would hatch? TODAY WAS THE DAY--TWICE!) As we ate Megan was across from the butterfly habitat and she told us it "was like breakfast and a show" as another one emerged. Anyways--the food was GREAT and we all loved we what got--grilled cheese was grilled crispy as God intended and the tomato and basil soup was excellent. My husband got quiche and especially liked the potatoes and Megan got a chocolate chip waffle and ate the whole thing (that's unusual!). Also! The cute gift shop was super fun! I got some little cow socks for a baby and some fun stickers. Literally a week later, my daughter just messaged me to tell me she is telling literally everyone about Luna's magic.
