I went there yesterday with a group of friends, and it was a complete catastrophe. We literally got up and left after being there a few minutes. Why?Well, first of all. . .the place was ice cold. It was 30 degrees outside and they had no heat in there. Someone sitting in the corner asked if any of our group was an electrician. . .could they not afford to call one? Second, the place was so dark that I wondered if the lights were out. If not for the fact there was a TV in the corner (streaming music from YouTube) I'd think they were completely out of power (especially with no heat and someone commenting about needing an electrician).Third, they were out of about half the menu. I ordered an iced tea. . .whatever I got wasn't that. Maybe if they took a small amount of actual iced tea and diluted it in water until it just had a hint of tea in it, that's what I got. They were out of lemons for tea. . .then when I wanted a Reuben, I found out they were out of sauerkraut. The place doesn't exactly have a big menu, keeping everything stocked for menu items should not be that hard. (Oh, speaking of menus, the menus we were handed were very well-worn and the ink had started to fade and run from being wet) The lack of heat, very worn-out menus that clearly haven't been replaced in a long time, and problems keeping food in stock makes me wonder if they are in failing financial condition. As we weren't dressed to eat a place that was maybe 50 degrees inside, and were finding that a number of the things we wanted to order were out, we paid for our drinks and left. We won't be back. We don't encourage anyone to go there.

I was out for a drive and happened upon Stars & Stripes about the time I was hungry. They are in a mall area and their building looks to be an old Long John Silvers restaurant. Their menu had plenty of selections with lots of "home cooked" meals. My waitress was friendly and took great care of us. My wife and I ordered something different so we could share and try a couple of things on the menu. Our food was delicious and reasonably priced. While we were eating the owner stopped by and visited with us making sure everything was good. They offer a discount for any current or past veterans, law enforcement or fire department members. I really enjoyed my visit and whenever I'm in the Louisa Kentucky area I will stop in again.

First time here. Was back in my hometown for a mini fam reunion. Heard about this place from a local. (Thanks, Red)... went to dinner on a Sunday evening, about 5:30pm. It was a nice, quiet meal, which is what we were looking for. We had the fried green tomatoes for a starter, and then my hubby had the catfish dinner and I had the Little D burger and onion rings. Food was very good, especially the onion rings! They passed my "bite test" (where you can bite all the way through them and the onions don't string out on the side while the coating falls off). These onion rings were great in that they were crunchy and easy to eat-just the way I like them. The catfish dinner turned out to be fairly pricy because we were charged extra for hubby's onion rings as that was apparently not considered a side. So he got three medium sized pieces of fried catfish and a cup of cole slaw for $14.50 with the onion rings being an up charge. Still, hubby gave the catfish dinner an enthusiastic thumbs up for taste. He said it was prepared well and if a clean basket plate is any indication, then hubby heartily approved of his fish dinner, up charge and all. We brought home a piece of cake called "chocolate delight", which the owner said had been fresh made the day before. You could tell it was fresh. A four layer chocolate cake, with light sponge cake. The cake itself, while having great mouth feel, wasn't particularly big on chocolate taste but the white creme between the layers was sweet and nice. Word to the wise -- one piece of cake is plenty for at least two people. They had a bar but to wash it all down, we each had a soft drink and I got a free refill to go. The service was friendly and fast. I didn't care for their tip system as you weren't allowed to sign for your check and add a tip yourself, they actually asked you about the tip and had to put it on themselves. I prefer to do it myself. Our check for dinner for two came to $39.00 and change plus tip for two people - so a bit pricy for such a casual place. But it was nice to find such a pleasant little place that's not a chain. Would recommend and will return when we have the chance.

If I could give this zero stars I would. Let me start out with the fact that they're sweet tea wasn't sweet me and my family went down there when visiting family it took them an hour to get our food ready and served while we were waiting all of a sudden out of nowhere. Loud music starts to play and there's a speaker right above where we were sitting and we couldn't hear each other talk. When they did bring us our food, my mothers steak wasn't cooked the way she wanted and you couldn't even cut into it. They put onions on my nieces food and she's only four do not go here poor service, rude service, and most importantly, ignorant people we ended up telling them to not charge us for the food they brought us and we just left, it was that bad. Don't waste your time or your money.

This is a MUST stop!!!! Found this little place on our motorcycle trip and due to them supporting the Military we chose to support them. We walked in and was greeted and waited on by the sweetest young lady! Cute little joint decorated in Military theme, owned by a retired Marine. He himself makes everything from scratch! OHMYGOD the food was amazing and the cheesecake is the best I've ever had! We will most definitely make this a place to ride to again.

In the area for the first time and from upstate NY, my coworkers and I were looking for somewhere local to eat for dinner. We rolled up pretty deep with 7 of us but on a Wednesday night it wasn't too busy. We ordered a ton of fried appetizers and they were all amazing - the Potato Kegs and the friend tomatoes were gone so fast, we got another order of them. The food and service was quick! I got the pork chop for dinner and the collard greens and you can tell it was homemade and well seasoned. Everyone else liked their food and beer, a really great meal. After we were done eating Dwayne (I believe the owner) asked if anyone of us wanted to sing Karaoke. None of my coworkers wanted to join me, but I sang 3 songs on and off with Dwayne. He wanted us to feel welcome and to have fun. We struggled to leave because we had made some friends and got talking and more people sang Karaoke. Thanks for a fun night and new memories!

It was dark and cold walking in just before 11am. There were already 2 men at the bar having beer, a woman behind the bar, and a child who looked to be about 10 or 11 years old. The lady took our drink order which was a soda and a coffee. She said she had to make the coffee which was fine as it would be fresh. She brought out creamer for the coffee and it curdled as soon as it was poured into the coffee. After that, we looked in the little creamer cup which had chunks of old creamer stuck around the sides. She took our lunch order, no issues. When she brought our order to us after about 30-40 minutes, it looked appetizing. After tasting, it was not. The mashed potatoes were instant and too thin. The sour kraut and writers were at least a day old and possibly microwaved. The country fried steak tasted okay, but it was definitely frozen before being heated. The gravy on top looked like grits. It was just gravy that had a lot of lumps. The other meal was chicken tenders and fries. Fries looked good. Chicken wasn't terrible. She carried out the food while the child brought our napkins and utensils. Neither were wearing gloves. The napkins were wrapped around the handles of the utensils but the child's hands were touching the forks. Whatevs. Then I picked up a fork to use and noticed it had a few pieces of old, dried food stuck to it. Before she walked away, she offered to get a clean one. She brought it back and said "I made sure it was clean". Another man showed up, sat at the bar with the other men, had a drink, then walked over to mess with the heater that was sitting in the middle of the floor. It was going hard, but it was still so cold in there. Then he stepped out just before we did to light up a cigarette. The lady came over to ask if we needed anything else. We asked for the check. She took the card and ran it with no offer of a receipt then skipped off to the kitchen quickly. We don't usually carry cash and always tip on the receipt. We had no option. We stood around for a few more seconds to see if she would return, but she did not. We walked out to leave as we were in a hurry and traveling and had to walk through the man's giant cloud of smoke then smelled like cigarettes for the duration of our 7 hour drive. It just wasn't a wonderful experience at all. I had heard good things a few years ago, so I was hopeful to have a good meal and good service. Service wasn't bad, just a little awkward I guess.

This place is just flat out not good. There's nothing else for me to say. I don't wanna be rude or hateful and maybe they just had a bad day but still. I don't mind paying $22 for a steak but when the steak is undercooked and barely edible I do have a problem. And then there's the service. OMG. It is terrible. There was barely anyone else there on the day I went and it still took nearly an hour to receive my food.
