I love it here. I always seem to forget about it & always come back to wishing I would come here more often. They have different spots to park, kids playground, porta potties across from that. Plenty of picnic tables, benches & one spot undercover with picnic tables. Oh & a tennis court! Just a beautiful spacious place to walk, enjoy nature or bring your kids to run off some energy.

Long Run Park is a great place to visit! We went to hang out (at a socially safe distance) with some friends recently, and we had a great afternoon. The area is beautiful, and there are lots of opportunities for activities. We spent our time sitting around the water and fishing, but we also saw people windsurfing, kayaking, walking, jogging, and biking around the area. There's also plenty of space to picnic, including shelters with picnic tables and grills, plus there's a playground, a spray park, basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts, and a golf course. If you're looking for a graet park to visit, Long Run Park is great!

First time here. Came early and in the middle of the week. Lawn crew cutting fields. The smell of fresh cut grass and hay was wonderful. Clear morning, met a blue Heron. Quiet. Tranquil. Best to come during the week when fewer people are here.

This truly used to be a beautiful park but has (like many things) unfortunately been extremely mismanaged by city government. What used to be huge fields and trails surrounding an awesome 25 acre pond has been completely overgrown with Bradford pears. Despite the capital investment on the "waterpark" - sadly that only attracted shady characters and which has turned this park into a seedy hangout spot. Very sad, considering this used to be a real hidden gem for east-enders and park enthusiasts alike. The City has clearly focused its efforts on Beckley Creek Park (The Parklands). I often consider that the city, its taxpayers and Eastwood residents would be better off now if they sold this park.

I love this park. There's really not a lot to it, but I find it to be just right. There is a big gorgeous lake you can paddle boat and canoe on, and also fish on. Some hiking trails are also available. There are a few pavilion picnic areas scattered around the park as well as other picnic tables that are unsheltered. My favorite thing to do at this park is grab a big blanket and some chairs to relax on and go chill in the grassy area surrounding the lake. It's beautiful!! Pack a picnic lunch and you're set!Usually the park is pretty quiet unless there is large party in the sheltered area. That can get noisy. All-in-all though I truly love this relaxation station spot in Louisville!

I forgot how awesome this place was. It had been a couple years since I'd been here. It's pretty far out past Middletown and 265. It's right next to long run golf course. There is a family style play ground up from but what attracts me is the water and the hilly winding road around it. Plenty of space for a picnic or to play ball. To run or ride your bike. I also like that it's really quiet out there!

What a cute, CLEAN park. I went there over the weekend to find the park busy, but large enough where you don't feel like you are invading other people's space. We went there to fish but had no luck! However, I really want to go back to try again, maybe bring a picnic basket (they have picnic tables all around) and our dogs. There were a few families there enjoying the lake by fishing, kayaking, and even paddleboarding. There are a couple entries into the lake where you could easily slip into a kayak and go. We entered an address provided through a site into our GPS but it didn't take us to the entrance....it took us past the entrace. Just look for the Long Run Park sign and head on in. You can't miss it!

Been fishing here a couple times only caught a small bass. If you want to catch bass, use a boat or kayak. Bank fishing spots are dead. I have seen a good amount of quality fish like 2 or 3 pounds and most are near the south side of the lake. Only negative is that the boat ramp is sketchy. It's hard to unload a boat on a trailer because the ramp is only about 3 and a half feet deep.

My family has been coming to Long Run for my whole life. We were going on picnics in the '60's and '70's. But the 4th of July was the best time ever. Putting the canoe in the lake. Just really some many many happy memories are at that park. I plan on keep making them. By the way, my name was wrote on the covered place by the dock
